Ok, thanks for confirming I had the author right. Didn’t know he wrote two more.

And I could well be mistaken about the list of sources.

Further examination of the book reveals that the article in question was in a section of the book called 'Midnite Rambler' and that that section was 'Compiled' by someone called Coco Pekelis.

If Glimmerest tracks her down they will be one step nearer finding the source.

IMDB tells me "Coco Pekelis. Actress: Quarry. Coco Pekelis is known for Quarry (1978). She was previously married to David Dalton." And she's also (unsurprisingly) known as Coco Dalton. If Glimmerest is happy to sell their soul to Zuckerberg and his running dogs, then the next step is simple.

Thanks a bunch again. It's amazing the amount on knowledge this forum has on the Stones!

So, Marianne is Timmy's mum? Rather unlikely.

More likely (IMHO) is that the entire article is invented and that Coco Pekelis/Dalton was taken in by it?

I'm sure its a prank article. I'm mostly wanting to find it for the sake of fun.

I just watched The Stones And Brian Jones and I really enjoyed it. There wasn't a ton of new info for me but it's lovely to see all the old footage. It did mention something that bugs me.

One thing that has shown up in the Brian discourse in the last couple of years or so is that Brian apparently 'adopted' himself into other families, got a daughter pregnant then bailed, and did this "at least five times". Problem is that I'm not really sure of if I can identify five cases of it.

The first case might be the mother of the unidentified child (possibly a boy?) mentioned in Paul Trynka's book. This case is not mentioned in the documentary at all but I imagine it could be included as one of the instances. It might have been similar to Valerie's case since Brian was even younger at this point.

Valerie Corbett (resulting in Simon)

Pat Andrews (resulting in Mark)

Linda Lawrence (resulting in Julian)

So when did it happen for the fifth time? Was it supposed to be with Dawn Malloy? Because I dind't get the impression that he moved in with her family at all or "adopted" her family like he did with the others. At least not from the doc or the book. But maybe I'm misremembering.

Why has this post been put in the Brian Jones talks post? Surely it's not going to get as much attention now. In the past we've always had standalone posts about Brian's and other birthdays?

Maybe to replace His Majesty's efforts. A pity he left this building.

A person who has died does not have birthday. Sadly Brian Jones died in 1969.

Anyone who wonder about the IORR Editor posting policy may read carefully through the Jan. 1st 2024 news post on IORR, it is no more than a year old, but still valid:

Jan 1: Next Generation IORR
There will be changes to the IORR site. Please see the editorial update Next Generation IORR, and the IORR Forum pages Next Generation IORR - Updates and Next Generation IORR - Comments.

For those who are too busy to read through those words, in short, Off Topic and RIP and Happy Bithday will be the first threads I will get rid of when I am about to close down IORR, through the final time, to spell it out. The clock is ticking.

There is not a large team of editors on IORR. I want the focus on IORR to be mainly on their current activities, live, studio etc, then of course also space for the rest of their catalogue and history.

I say this in posts may be every week, so there is nothing new here.

Obviously the concert was recorded professionally. Where are the soundboard tapes?

Dunno about tapes, but in 2022 the Polish Institute of National Memory produced an extensive report - seemingly from 'official files" of the whole trip to Warsaw.

Younger readers have to understand how unusual that was for 1967 in the Cold War.

I actually went to the bother of using Google Translate to change it into English. Fascinating.

Unfortunately it's over 17,000 words (over 30 pages) so too long to post here.

I'm open to suggestions as to how I can make it more available.

I would love to read that report! This particular and VERY historical concert fascinates me a helluva lot.

What about an own thread for it?

According to one story, at least one copy should be in KGB files in Moscow... (Those 'bootleggers' loved to record everything..)

I doubt that a single posting of something like 17,000 words is within the quite sensible and reasonable limits we have for iorr.

I just realised it was only a week before Brian turned 22 years of age that I heard the Rolling Stones for the first time on a pirate radio station (“Not Fade Away”). The memory has’t faded away not even a bit after 61 years cool smiley
Mick and Keith were still 20 at the time winking smiley and look at them! They were like young gazelles last year in the USA. I’m so proud of these guys. They blew history apart
and still manage to excite so many every time.
I hope they will still do Europe this year. Still 10 more months to choose fromwinking smiley

LOL!!! Read the thread. Yes. Google did it for me. It's about 17,000 words long and 30 pages or so, and is arguably not appropriate to post here, and I'm looking for a sensible way to make it available. Read the thread. :-))
