If could only keep 1 & wipe all others from their catalogue which would you choose to keep? Luxury, Cherry O Baby, Too rude, Feel on Baby, Send it to me,. You don't have to mean it. Did I miss any? None are essentials Wish they'd give up trying this type of song, Their fun & should keep making 1 per album. What best describes your sentiments?

Whats your take on Stones doing Reggae????? Thoughts etc.

I kind of like them except feel on baby. Had to pick 1 keeper it'd be"you don't have to mean it" not really reggae though is it.

Always wondered what other hard cores thought of their reggae tunes!!!!

Cherry Oh Baby is the only one that I really, really dig.

i love luxury, but never considered it a full-on reggae tune...so, i'll also go with cherry o baby, i think the stones are ok at reggae (especially for a bunch of white, british lads)

"too Rude"......"dont have to mean it"..."walk and dont look back"....."start me up"....if the stones want to cover songs nobody does it better...."love Train " not reggae, i loved that number....

sorry, i can't relate to "wiping" anything from their catalog,
and i like all the Stones' reggae-flavoured numbers.

I like Feel on baby, only not that electrick click clack on it, wish I had a version without it.
I also like cracking up wich has a regae feel too.
I like their cross over reggae like luxury,
Maybe that is the essential one for that part although its not pure reggae
but its what they made out of it!

As a reggae You Dont Have To... is the most faithful to roots.
But Send It To Me has a way more freshness to it.
But "Don´t Look Back" from 1978 is the best STones-reggae ever done sofar, by far.

I hope Keith still is trying to make the perfext reggae song with the Stones.

And I still wait for them to cover Satan Army band & Soul Almighty.

Get Up Stand Up will be a hell of a cover in Europe (créme de la crème of those shows).

One day I´ll write that essay of Stones influencing the reggae movement
to its peak in the late 1970s. Or if its gonna be a movie.

Mick & Peter in "Don´t Look Back" from 1978. Watch it? [www.ifilm.com]

Mr. Tosh.

Sorry; the typing ran away with me...
Of course "Don´t Look Back" isnt the Stones... It´s Tosh & his band.
Plus Mick.
But its funny Keith doesnt seem to be involved at all there...
Recorded in Strawberry Hill, Jamaica in 1978.

Check in the clip! (link above)... Dig Jagger´s moves....
And oool´ cool Tosh cant stop himself from crackin some smiles...

The best reggae song the Stones ever did is JAH IS NOT DEAD!

Ofcourse never released. (same old story again).

It's a great reggae jam recorded at the Compass Point Studios, Nassau Bahamas early 1979. Including Bozz Scaggs on additional vocals.

Check it out!

Also a great reggae tune is Jah Wonderfull (unreleased), wich contains stuff from Burning Spears'Slavery Days. These 2 tracks prove that the Stones due play great reggae. A lot better than You Don't Have To Mean It or Too Rude!

No one mentioned this, but I've always felt that Sweet Black Angel had a bit of a reggae feel. Anyone agree?

I think Jagger sings in a reggae-esque way, but the music isn't reggae....
