Saying they lack in any real emotion is a bold statement.

It's a pov i've encountered numerous times outside of stones forums.

Fair imo as, to my ears's it takes the stones some time to hit the jackpot, but of course when they do. Oh my! hot smiley

They are not master musicians that can hide behind technique or use technique to tap in to the good stuff. There's a lot is left to chance, they throw musical darts and the magic comes when things click and they hit the bullseye.

Couldn't have explained that better myself. You hear them sometimes and scratch your head and say, "Oh wow, that was TERRIBLE." When they do hit that bullseye, my goodness it is POWERFUL. smileys with beer

stones music to me has usually been distorted and unbalanced at times, they sound different to other bands in that other bands stick to a formula and try to produce music close to what they would see as near perfection, and usually to suit their image or perception of how their fans would want them to be, but the stones give the impression they are not trying for perfection and instead are pushing the boundaries in a direction that only they could get close to and experiment in the pursuit of getting there. other bands know they cant do this so their music tends to sound quite polished, by contrast the stones leave room for expansion.

The tour of 72 might be as real as any rock n roll band got!

False advertising calling it The Rolling Stones though. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

YES!

Didn't they go by Mick Jagger and his Rolling Stones thereafter?!

I seem to remember something like that.

Yep...bang on the nail .

[ Joe Satriani once remarked in a Guitarist magazine interview that he'd love to be Keith Richards for a day...to understand more of music that comes just from instinct and not from thought ]
