Thoughts / rating of "Crazy Mama"

Give it numerical 1-10 or letter like school or just assess via dialogue. Come on diehards don't let me down on this "project". I think its "good", "7", or B. 2nd best track on Black N Blue. Another track did not instantly grab me until maybe hearing it like 15 times. Ya know what I mean by a song like that. Do they or have they played this live. Is it suited to a smaller venue theater atmosphere than stadium? I don't know Give me those ratings /assessments!!!!!!!!!

I've always had a liking for that song - perhaps because it's a good tune on one of the worst albums I've ever heard...

JumpingKentFlash : if you want to spend time on a message board when you could be doing something useful please don't be so rude to what YOU consider to be a pointless post.

At the end of the day and in the grand scheme of things (and Bjornulf, please don't take this the wrong way) they are ALL pointless posts.

IORR has been a LOT nicer place to be than somew other puerile boards I have (briefly) visited. let's keep it that way.....

You have to agree the rating is stupid. This guy is here for a couple of days and he opens 50 topics with "rate this song" and "rate that song".

So? If you don't like them don't read them. Even if I agreed that the rating posts are stupid, which I don't, it wouldn't be the first time something stupid was ever posted on this board.

Crazy Mama - 7 out of 10. Good song, but as far as Black and Blue goes I prefer Hand of Fate.

I like that song. It is a shame they don't play it often. My rating: 9/10

the studio version is one of the best rock tune of this era.
the truce and the matter is i was hoping to hear to this song live
since 1976.
but when they did in 97 I thought it was a disaster.
and i heard boots ,I must admitt most of them in aud recording
but on all of them , there is not one time were ronnie is not F&"" up.
he ruined the song.
he turned caviar into a jelly

Isn't it mick's riff? I think that's him playing the first guitar.

So what? I see you're a member for years. How do you know he hadn't been here under another name before? Maybe he's Keith who just wants to know?

So ; Keith, here it is: 6 out of 10 (only looking at Stones songs, of course) and my girlfriend thinks the same.

yoo, here we go again I give crazy mama a big 7 what a groove, nice piece of work, and that ending is just gitars but I sounds like a brass section magic there!!!keith and mick on all the gitars, keith on bass. This was one of the first songs I liked when I became a fan when I was 14(20 years ago) a friend borrowed me sucking in the 70,tatoo you, and undercover. I loved it from the first seconth, specially mannish boy, crazy mama, whip(actually their all good songs, and yeah I even love undercover and fool to crysmiling smiley

10/10. One of their best.

When I saw them at Vet Stadium, Philly, in '97, they totally nailed it. All of them. Keith and Ronnie trading off on the leads, etc. Not one studder. I'd like to see them pull this one out again. I'd work good between She's So Cold and Shattered -- the Stones "sleeze" at its best.

the B2B live version was a tad disappointing. RW often struggled and MJ shoulda left the guitar and concentrated more on the vocals....

- Of course it´s Mick´s riff:
that´s why he´s called Mick Riff-hard,
or the Riff Maestro.

Not sure what you're getting at. It may be counterintuitive, but I think that's mick playing the main rhythm -- the other guitar sounds like keith. So I'm guessing mick came up with it, as he did "brown sugar."

This might explain why it never caught on as a live tune... keith seems to have a block with incorporating mick guitar songs, "brown sugar" excepted b/c of its extraordinary quality. "fingerprint file," for example.

I have always thought this could be a great opener. They could stretch the opening riff and let Mick come out a little later. I give it 7/10.
