yah; listened twice. that's a wildcat vocal; that's the real deal. whoa. after i went to what i posted from soul train; but only cause that took me to sly and the family stone....then i saw the 'page' had turned but was still listening to your track, so pasted.... ....i jumped with the groove and now back to it....yeh, more and more into soul grooves and funky rhythms; but Sly's thing; well his whole story; what happened even real recently; a real deal kind of life; huge huge amazing original sound, but this really takes me to another dimension w them; i'd skipped it. probs in teenage rock fury; it's super great. unique vocal take; masterful energy master that cat....thanks, Cindy!! plus the pride thing; it's kinda of heavy number; i want to stay with it and let it take me to it's core as time passes...
it is 'sly' it's sinister heat for realz; he pulls it off; he's going deep and it's worth the trip; these people at the top of their game went deeper than i could get at the time; and Cindy, I didn't want to stay in the main stage area for too much it, it's a hops thing; but i was at woodstock 50 years ago; and did Not see his performance there; was with the modest B stage local acts cuz woods and small crowds....but i saw it in the movie....

Eddie Floyd version, different from the great massive hit version of the absolute defining classic by Arthur Conley; but Eddie Floyd (knock on wood) is the real deal.
