Thanks hairball, I prefer the studio 1 version, a couple of them there as well before they moved on to Channel 1.

Johnny Clarke used to be known as "Mr Do Over Man Song" because Bunny Lee had him cover whatever song was hot at the time. And right behind him was Albert Griffiths and the Gladiators. Bob Marley really hated that the Gladiators did even better versions of his songs than he did (arguably).

All that Virgin Front Line material brings up the genius of Richard Branson, and that he hired John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten) to be his A&R man in Jamaica in those days and Lydon signed all those front line artists who put out product in the UK on the label.

right now though I am listening to the expanded Sticky Fingers and have to say now this is some righteous bonus material.

I was on stage for this one, mighty Roots Radics: Flabba Holt, Bingi Bunny, Style Scott, Dwight Pinkney, TBird Johnson, Skully Simms, Winston Wright. Psalms aka Gaylads backing vocals, special appearance by Bunny Wailers dancers.





Mind you, this was typical Jamaican Dancehall stylee: 10 am after all night session, already 95F in the sun.
