keith on saturday night live 78

This is one of my favorite keith performances, he's so full of energy, smiling joking, singing, leading the band, playing and looking good, they do beast of burden (one key lower cause jagger has lost his voice during the practice/party, with john belushi) respectable, and shatterd.I think he was so full of energy cause he just kicked heroin(for a while), look at the difference how keith performed/looked two years earlier in 1976, also cool but a bit sad, but anyway there at saturday night live 78, he was really peaking! what do you think

Never liked that performance. The sound is so-so, and Mick's horrible. Ronnie is no where to be found. I guess Keith's OK, but I'd have to say it's not his all-time best.

I know what you mean about the rest of the performance, jagger no voice, quite bad sound etc, but I mean just keith he is really having fun there. Do you have a favorite keith moment?? like I have this one.

My favorite Keith moment... geesh... that's a hard question. Probably on the Bridges To Babylon official tour video, in the opener. With the huge bang and then him playing the intro to Satisfaction in that cool leopard-skin coat and sunglasses.

I love that trashy phaser sound. Keith did a great solo on Beast. But Mick on Shattered? Total trash. On Yahoo video of Shattered now, Mick says "Money grabbers", Keith accents it with his guitar.

Ever heard Mick sing "Roll me a dollar"? in Tumbling Dice? Fits right in; just watch his hands rolling in.

I thought the SNL, music-wise, was pretty good.
BOB takes on a different feel in the key of D.
The weaving between Keith and Ron are great at the end.
Ron should have used a different guitar for Respectable, though.
Seems like he forgot to switch pickups. Was he still taping his Strat
pickup switch back then to get that "out of phase" sound?
I think he had it taped on that Faces video from 1974.
It's also the only time Keith used his Travis Bean guitar on film, besides the
She's So Cold video. Wonderful guitars, those Travis Beans.
Watch for Charlie, I think during Respectable, hitting his cymbal
with an upstroke. Great move.

highly enjoy the snl performance...they played like they had something to prove...tried to show the young punks at the time (rotten, strummer)who's still the boss...too bad about micks voice, though...but love their antics

For me Keith uses his '72 Custom Tele black, no Travis Bean, on the video to she's so cold.

Keith was so wasted the skits he was supposed to participate in that night had to be cut at the last minute. To quote Lorraine Newman (about Keith): "I've never stood next to a dead person before".

yeah right - you can see how wasted he is in the footage (from the rehearsals too).
(why do people keep repeating these myths??)

"What do you want - what?!"

Keith? Wasted? Myth? Belushi? Ackroyd? Cocaine?

NAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

UAWCPM, saying he was "wasted" is not the same as saying he was doing coke.
fine: he was doin all kinds of substances with and without Belushi all week.
at what point in the footage from the show and/or rehearsals does he appear "wasted" to you?

"What do you want - what?!"
