Favorite live era: 1968-1982; as much as they matured as a live band starting in 1989, I think they lost that sloppy/dirty sound that made them sound so great.
Favorite studio era: Obviously 1968-1972. Nobody in the history of music produced absolute masterpieces like Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers & Exile. A close second would be 1978-1981. There was an all around "fun" sound that came from that era. Some Girls, Emotional Rescue and Tattoo You act as a trio like the albums from The Golden Era.
