although Exile is my favourite Stones album, i don't think it has many 10/10 songs. when played as individual tracks a lot of them lose something to my ears
but when played as an album in its entireity, it blends into one glorious whole. the true definition of a GREAT album
if you know what i mean ?

10...and StonesTod is correct. They are all 10s. But mainly because as andy js points out, it's the flow of the whole that makes it great album...therefore each song becomes a 10 as part of this magnificent whole.
10 : everything on Exile is a 10. Same thing with "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys and "Revolver" by the Beatles and "Blonde on Blonde" by Dylan. With the exception of Exile, I guess I'm just stuck in a 1966 time warp.
this is THE album that proves one has to listen many, many times to fully appreciate the Stones greatness...
Listened to without skipping or interruption, and done several times in a week and ya only begin to understand that this is the album to "have on a stranded island".

Charles...if you're gonna pick a time-warp...might as well pick a great one....best wishes
