I saw a pic from last night's show in Va. I saw that Keith had his 72 Tele Custom. Has he been playing it on this tour much or what? To my knoweldge he hasn't played that one much since the early 80's.

Personally, those are sweet guitars, with a good tonal variety, with the single coil in the bridge position and the fat Fender humbucker in the neck.

Could someone please let me know.

Yes ,I saw that. As far as I know he hasn't play the black custom on stage since "Hail Hail rock n roll" back in 86.

I noticed he played a natural custom in the ONNYA rehearsal video and on tour footage of "Shattered" Good to see it back.

It was the workhorse of the 78 - 82 tours. I always wondered what pick up selection he uses with it ? On other teles you can clearly see he always uses the bridge single coil pick up.

Both correct. KR's last public performance with the Black 72 custom was 86 w/ Berry. He then "retired" it too studio work.

It was used on Voodoo Lounge Album from pics and statements.

I was pleasently surprised to see one of my favorite guitars (I own a black 72 custom re-issue) in his hands again at MSG and Giants Stadium

He also pulled out the Lucite see thru guitar. I doubt it's the same one used on Ya-Ya's (I think that one was stolen) but you never know.

A side note: Keith usd to HATE changing guitars a lot, sometimes altering the setlist to avoid a guitar change to avoid slowing down the show. How times have changed.

Oy, he may have been playing it the whole tour but this was the first I, and it seems a few others, had heard of it, right? Sorry that doesn't meet with you approval.... nah not really, but why not add something to the thread rather than being belittling, eh? For instance, what songs did he use the guitars on? Do you have any pics? And so on....
