The 10 minute-break aint no news; they´ve had tha´one before.
Maybe at most venues. First ever as I´ve heard during their whole career.

1. Start Me Up
2. IORR - new position
3. Shattered
4. Tumbling Dice
5. Rough Justice
6. Ruby Tuesday - cool
7. Sweet Virginia - WOW! Played just for us!
8. All Down The Line - Ronnie was playing nasty licks!
9. Night Time - Lisa was awesome!
BAND INTROS

The ten minute delay became about an hour due to bomb threat. Damn! Ronnie was definitely setting up to accompany Keith on Happy!

10 Miss you
11. ONNYA - B stage
12 get off of my cloud -B stage - very cool indeed!
13 Honkey tonk women - done really well!
14 Sympathy - always cool
15 Paint it Black - yeah baby!
16 Midnight Rambler - holy shit!!!
17 Brown Sugar
18 JJF
19 YCAGWYW
20 Satisfaction

An awful venue...no booze, traffic and parking nightmares...took me 3 and 1/2 hours to get there for a normally 90 minute drive. Crowd was filled with college kids, but I'll tell ya..this crowd was on its feet the whole time and VERY loud....Mick and the boys definitely appreciated it given the delay and the fact it rained the last hour or so!

Amazing show, great setlist (think most would agree it was the best so far)...only the Stones could make a nightmare drive, bomb threat one hour delay, and soaking rain all worthwhile!!!

Whoooh! Gotta go to bed...but I'm a bigger fan than ever if that's possible!!! I think they're really starting to get cooking....anyone whose got tix for the next shows....you'll have a fantastic time too!!! I'm done until the Vegas show...I think! :-)

Thanks, 4tylix. Sleep tight.
Beats most setlists so far (?): Rambler, ADTL,
PIB, Cloud, Ruby & Sweet Virginia (Not to forget RJ!)...
At the same show.
Still; BS, JJF, YCAGWYW, Satisfaction may be one to many
warhorses in a row.

4tylix; do you print us some more impressions after you´ve
zonked out and are up again (how would we know)?

I just got home but looks like you guys already have the news of the show. I'd like to choke the jerk that called in the bomb threat. He cheated all of us out of Keith's set! Midnight Rambler was awesome!

Anyone have any digital pix you could send me from the show? I can make it worth your effort. Hope this one is on CD or even DVD soon!

Dídnt get it at first that they actually went on playin thruout the whole.
The cops just used the planned break to search for bombs.
Pretty cool.
Someone over at one of the other boards said he was at Altamont; but t-h-i-s
was weirder... Well, guess he ewasnt in the fron rows back in 69... ?

Stonkin' set list!
The incident - worrying but a hoax in the end, everyone safe.
A classic Stones moment.
Wish I had been there.

Oily.

I'll be at the show in Durham tomorrow night. The weather forecast is for rain, rain, rain, so it will probably suck. I would love to hear Keith do Happy.

Anyone got a view on how the support band "Trey Anastasio Band" went over....I thought they were a brave choice for a Stone show...would be interested to here how they were received....

Well, I'm not the best at giving the level of detail others are, but my main impressions were:

1. The criticism of Ronnie is undeserved. Between MCI and last night, I think he's doing an incredible job. Much better than the licks tour. Bitch at MCI and ADTL last night were at blistering paces.

2. Keith is better than on Licks too. Beautiful intro to YCAGWYW. Nice loud open g riffs on the classics. On JJF or maybe it was Satisfaction he was tearing it up and the screen was on him when he looked down at the audience and made a gesture like "ouch, I'm hurting my fingers" and smiled. :-)

3. Plenty of people in the crowd knew Sweet Virginia and sang along to the chorus. Mick loved it! Actually asked us to sing it again after it had ended...they started and took us through the chorus one more time.

4. I liked Night Time better than Mr. Pitiful...Mick and Lisa had it going on!

5. Miss You may actually be the best song to play going to B stage- it just feels right as the stage moves...not one of my faves, but it works here.

6. Rough Justice and ONNYA ought to be reversed. I think RJ would work better later and is more suitable for B. Also, after the delay, I thought they may be tired or have lost gusto...ONNYA was a bit messy and Mick's voice was not as good on it as others....but they came roaring back!

7. The stage is incredible. Big, gorgeous and tasteful. I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Stones in some ways are better in stadiums than arenas. They make it feel like a club! I've seen Bruce, Aerosmith, and others in stadiums and the stadium feels too large. Not so with the Stones...they own the place!

8. Main impression....despite UVA completely messing up venue management, the delay, rain...it was a VERY special show! If we'd gotten Happy last night which I'm certain was about to occur, it would have been without a doubt the best setlist so far...and though I don't know about other performances (except MCI), it'd have to be one of their best on this tour.

Well, now that it's all over ....

I have to admit that when I heard there had been a bomb threat called in,
the first thing I thought was ....

Man, those guys at IORR are taking their bitching about the set list too far !!!

No Happy was planned for Charlottesville. My friend got a set list, and it was the usual two Keith songs, The Worst and Infamy...No offense to Keith, but the Rambler was fine with me. Of the three shows I just saw, Hershey Park, hands down, the best show. Charlottesville second, MCI third.

The Stadiums are better, so far, than the arenas...My tour is over until winter, I am sad, melancholy, etc. But what a way to go out! Great set list last night from Sweet Virginia!!!!!

Does Ronnie play pedal steel on something other than Happy? That's where he was sitting when Mick and he passed words just prior to the delay announcement, which occurred just before Keith's spot in the set. Did you see it happen differently?

Re: Charlottesville, Virginia

He plays The Worst on pedal steel
He played it at MCI

I didn't get to see the opening act. I heard a little of while getting in. Great show on the Stones part but here are a few of the bad things:

Town of Charlottesville totally unprepared. I had been emailed that downtown parking with shuttle buses running every 5 minutes was the way to go. The buses were suppose to start at 6:15. The first bus stopped at 6:45. Glad it wasn't a really good opening act.

Keep this in mind too. None of the T-shirt stands accepted credit cards. Had to stand in line to use an ATM to get cash so I could stand in line and get shirts.

All in all still a great show. However the hour long break/bomb threat broke the momentum and it made the show seem very short ( if you don't count the break).

Now who's got the CD and DVD?

Somebody must have been REALLY sick of hearing The Worst & Infamy to phone in a bomb threat to get out of hearing them again.
