I haven't heard the boot yet

Was Mick Taylor on stage during the whole show or just a few songs?

Was there good feeling among them?

Did MT play well?

The legend says that an annoyed Keith made the technicians to lower MT's guitar in the mix.

He joined during Black Limo and stayed for the remainder. Highly uneventful in terms of MT's contributions - the Stones made no "space" for him whatsoever - it was pretty much a standard issue '81 show. On the excellent soundboard from the show - he is barely detectable for most of the proceedings.

Tod - that's because Jagger didn't let him get plugged into the Soundboard!

he was just given a small amp to plug into, he had to turn it up as loud as it
would go so he could heard himself and didn't fit in with the rest of the band
at all. Too bad they didn't plan it and researse... oh well MLC

that may be - but my point was more that the Stones obviously didn't even bother to leave any opportunity to shine with an arrangement change - didn't even get ONE solo the entire show. weird - why bother even asking him to join, you have to ask...

Because it was more of a SLAP from Keith to Jagger, they were feuding at that
time - remember. It'was documented in Rolling Stone mag. as:

Mick Taylor to perform at the personal invitation of: Keith Richards

Don't think keith really cared about how it came off...

In his book "Rolling with the Stones", Bill Wyman says that, in his opinion, Kansas City was the single worst gig on the entire '81 tour.

Yes...Bill was referring to the Mick Taylor gig.

well Bill's wrong. there are far worst gigs (based on the recordings circulating) than this one....

I would agree with you -- many of the shows on the '75 and '78 tours were worse than that one.

The show itself is pretty boring. Pace play and sloppy as hell. Mick Taylor adds nothing IMO. Hampton Roads is way better from this tour.
