the main problem is the posters who refuse to locate the CAPS key on their keyboards, which causes irritation to the eyes and headaches which leads to dissatisfaction of the band....
It's because we are such great fans that we even cruise this site. Remember the word fan comes from fanatic! We are into the band so much that we want to dissect every song and tour and riff!

why are some people too dumb to see that dissatisfaction with SOME aspects of where the band are artistically in 2005 necessarily means that you're living in the past and "dont dig the Stones anymore"?
Why do you have to assume that if someone dislikes some things about whats happening now this means they have to automatically dismiss everything else the band are doing at the minute? I dont see that at all. Many of the people here who dislike the new album still enjoy the current shows, and vice versa.
If this was 1972 or 1978, people would still find things that they're not happy about. If you're a consumer, its justifiable to have expectancies. And if you're a fan of a band that is accepted to be the 'greatest rock n roll band in the world' (copyright, 1969) then you also have a right to expect high standards.
The Stones wouldnt be the success they are if they didnt set themselves high standards. There's nothing wrong with fans having a healthy and harmless debate on what they like and what they dont like. We do it because we all have an interest in the band and want them to excel. We're not sheep.
Gazza brings up an interesting hypothetical scenario. What if it were 1972, 1975 or 1978 and we had this forum to post our views on? What praise or complaints would we be putting forth? I can just imagine someone complaining about the '72 setlist "Ah man, they harldy played any of their old songs!"
Chris, i have often thought the same thing about the missed oportunity to post thoughts on old albums at the time they were released.
Guaranteed people would have complained about EXILE "should have cut it down to just half the songs and released one great album, why did they have to make it a double with a bunch of mediocre tunes to fill it out" or "I can't believe they charged me 7.99 for a few extra songs!" How about Some Girls "The Stones have gone disco, ill never listen to them again!!" [come to think of it i had friends who DID say that] Can you imagine the DISCO SUCKS postings we would have seen here??!!! Or maybe some stuff like the Stones are too old, "check out this new band i am into the Sex Pistols they will out last the Stones for sure!" "They are touring the US for the next couple of months check them out (but wait until AFTER the first two weeks when they will be on top of their game)."

1. Too many new songs that the audience dont know and not enough oldies 2. Shows too short (compare '78 to '75) 3. tickets more expensive than everyone else 4. Band keeping audience waiting and coming on very very late 5. They're not the same since Brian left!

6. I just want to make love to ewe 7. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack of my hand 8. The Lambtern 9. Wool Love You 10. Black Sheep Girl
Face it: the complainers complain because they can. Anyone with an internet connection can know the setlist before Mick's chauffeur steps on the gas to leave the venue. Bootlegs exist within a week of the event. In 1978, despite the fact that the Some Girls shows were virtually identical from town to town, no more than 100 people probably knew that the setlist from Memphis, TN differed from the one in Lexington, KY. And guess what? It didn't matter.
