as far as i know, no recording of the complete show exists
(neither complete show, to be precise - there were of course two).
sure would love to be wrong about that, though!

it 'exists' in so far as both shows were recorded for LYL and would be in the ban'd's vaults - however it doesnt circulate

thank you Gazza - "isn't available" is what i meant & should've said.
here's a photo to redeem myself after misspeaking:

- march 4th or 5th 1977, by Ken Regan (courtesy of KeithRichards.com)

"he played good is what i mean to say, and when Keith is on, ain't no one can touch him."
- Chet Flippo, 1977

in flippo's book, he claims during 1 el mocambo show, he could hear cassette recorders clicking "on'. thus, one would think that an entire performance would exist in audience quality. however, neither show has evre surfaced in its entierty.

There are acetates from this. Soundboard and official. Used by the band to decide what to use on the live album. I have had my hands on them and the sound is fantastic of course. Bits released long time ago underground and the rest still only on the acetates. Lots of stuff never end up on bootlegs you know.

Indeed

some of us long time IORR subscribers remember a great 7' El Mocambo EP about 20 years ago with a couple of songs which (at the time) had not surfaced on bootlegs!!

There are some fake Elmo boots kicking around
with a few acetates, a few generations removed,
and a few tracks from other sources, sounds like
a big concert, not a club. Avoid.

I havent played LYL since the early 80's. Knowing what the Stones could have put on is painfull to know. Hope someone releases those tapes soon, maybe IORR fan club should bid for it? $25 per member?

I love the photo "with sssoul" posted of Keith. His hair is cool in this photo and that of the Anaheim show photos in '78. Stay away from replying "Maverick."

those are the songs known to have been played but they're not actually in that order (most of the first show listed - save for the opening song and Crackin up) is listed alphabetically

Eddie Kramer Engineered Love You Live.
I've heard he has a lot of soundboard tapes from the 75-76 tours and also copies of the El Mocambo shows!

I think it's the best the Stones did live from the Ron Wood era. It's a shame these shows haven't been released yet. I would suggest to release a double cd with the best versions of all the tracks played at El Mocambo. I would be a very lucky man! (and with me over 1.000.000 Stones fans!)

I'm drooling looking at those setlists and imagining performances in line with side three of "Love You Live."

"Rolling Stones: The Bootleg Series, Vol. I: The El Mocambo Club, 1977"

PS: Get a copy of Keith's mugshot from the Toronto bust to use as the cover art...

Margaret Trudeau on back cover.
