Summerfest Lineup:
The Rolling Stones with Billy Preston, The Eagles with Joe Walsh, Rufus with Chaka Khan, The Gap Band - Rich Stadium (Orchard Park, NY) - August 8, 1975"I was there 8-8-75 -- and,
sorry, but no. It might have been a better day with this lineup, since fans were in the stadium from noon to midnight.

Rolling Stones, Bobby Womack, the Outlaws — Aug. 8, 1975. The Stones finish their '75 "Tour of Americas" with their second Buffalo date that summer. (They also played the Aud — Memorial Auditorium — in mid-June). The Stones were at their peak.

I understand that there is a ticket stub site that says it has an image of a ticket that reads Stones-Eagles-Rufus at Buffalo 8-8-75, but believe me, that bill was changed and that ticket withdrawn. My ticket for that day is rather cheaply printed - and now I see why. It was a revised edition.
My ticket is shown on this page: [

None of the photos on the 97 Rock page above are from Rich Stadium. Mick wore White gauze trousers with red stripes, tied at the ankles with red ribbons, and red shoes. For the opening numbers, a black leather jacket on top.
Bobby Womack seems like a sentimental choice on the Stones' part, to fill in the gap left by the Eagles' departure. But the Womack comeback act that I saw wasn't much of a gap-fill in what was supposed to be a blow-out event. Only the Stones closer lived up to expectations.
Also, if memory serves, there was fourth act on the bill, as there would need to be since the first band came on at 2:00 PM, and the Stones didn't show till dark, aprx. 9:40 PM.
My first Stones show, my first outdoor show, my first show among my peer group (nobody's "cool parents" supervising) = one long but happy day.
