I will buy 2 tickets for both weekend. Just to get ready in line on Friday.

HA HA! Got my girlfriend!
Grand Marshall is standing ONLY, in front of the three largest stages (Stones are playing at the largest Acura.) From my experience there is always plenty of room at the Acura stage, however the other 2 Grand Marshall areas are smaller and may require getting there early to get in.
There has been seating on the stage left and right in the past BUT you gotta really have a connection, they not for sale.
There are also two other VIP areas that have seating.

Usually they only allow chairs/blankets behind a certain point, not toward the front. Realistically you can’t really save a spot early and go back later in the day. The VIP areas run right across the front of the stage, so with a regular ticket you’re always going to be behind them—but as they’re using a runway, that may make a difference this time.
EDIT NO CHAIRS OR TARPS WILL BE ALLOWED AT ACURA STAGE MAY 2. In recent times SMALL chairs are not allowed in the GA area closer to the stage. Exactly where they will draw the line on chairs being placed is unknown. A blanket/tarp greater than 6' x 8'is not permitted. In any case you cannot leave the space unoccupied.

While things are always not that simple I suggest either 1) get a VIP area/ 2) GA area and emprace the crowd, but go early and maintain your space or 3) go early and stake out and maintain a seat in the bleachers

Well that’s great/honorable it is available to the locals/ community of jazz attendees 1st.
I know nothing about NO but have read books describing the neighborhoods and history.
The quieter side appeals to me, unlike the large freaky alcohol beaded parade

Oh great! Another Ticketmaster fiasco to look forward to. Get ready for '1000 people are ahead of you', time differences between TM mobile and web version, and behold, after you wasted an hour, you can now buy TM Resale tix. No thanks. I'm glad I got to see this tour 10 times in Europe.

For those who want to get close to the band, there are VIP areas across the front area of each stage, and for the weekend that includes May 2nd the VIP package you'd want is the Grand Marshal one ($2000).

I recall one time seeing a show on the Acura (the BIG stage, right?) and there was an area people were watching from, like ON the stage - sort of like A Bigger Bang tour.
