Re: Is Keith's 'outlaw junkie' image slightly exaggerated ?

Bon Scott did choke on vomit. When I first saw Spinal Tap, I immediately thought of Bon when they were talking about one of their drummers choking on vomit... but someone else's vomit! As Derek Smalls said, Scotland Yard doesn't have the facilities to prove who's vomit it was, to which Nigel chimed in, "you can't really dust for vomit"!!
Angus said Bon liked to drink alot, but to his credit, he was never late for any gig! The really sad thing about Bon's death is that he died just as AC/DC was achieving their popularity.
As far as the Stones go, it was Brian who was really the "outlaw junkie". As Charlie said, Brian liked drinking and doing drugs. He did everything to excess.

In reference to this question, I am reminded of a quote by the late Dr. Hunter S. Thompson commenting on FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS (the book, kids). I wouldn't have any problem extrapolating this into Keith's situation.

"The smart people in the media knew it was a weird exaggeration. The dumb ones took it seriously and warned their children to stay away from me at all costs. The really smart ones understood it was only a censored, kind of toned-down, children's-book version of the real thing."

I think it is slightly exaggarated. I'm sure he used drugs, but not as many. However "tough" he may be, if he really took everything they say he did, I guess Keith wouldn't be with us anymore.
