Those that know me know I never have a problem sharing my passion. I have recently just bought a gallary space to set up a much larger version of my “Stones museum” which is currently confined to a “bedroom”. I had a really great time opening my home to a few hundred fans during the U.K. tour, the vast majority of whom I had never met (and yes it was free). I think everyone had a good time.

I would love to share it but I don’t own it so it’s not mine to share. I do however own a copy of it and I am happy to play it at my home for anyone interested (at least those that don’t slag me off).

Without saying too much, did you find the Jagger/Simon tape among a bunch of other (unreleased) Stones recordings or was it on its own...?

Getting straight to the point :-)

This is the only recording an artist has asked for in a major publication!

I don’t hear Ms. Simon at all.
It sounds like Mick sitting at the piano in a bar at 2 am.

In one of the CS Blues clips, Mick is playing the riff on piano and says “it’s fragile. Like china” as he stops playing and walks away.

seriously.....and no joke....but the Stones could probably put out another 10/15 maybe 20 albums of out takes alone....insane amount out there....and who knows how much we've never heard???

I was suprised at how good that brief excerpt sounded (so who leaked that snippet ? Carly ? And who leaked the story ?) but then they could make state of the art recordings in 1972, hehe...it's just that we're used to hearing outtakes with generally poor quality.

We could do with a more detailed description of the song passed onto Rolling Stone. What length is the track?Who sings what?Lyrics?Quality of recording? All this information can be provided with out copyright infringement.Where was the track found ?etc
Other wise it’s just a storm in a tea cup.And maybe no different to the snippets we have heard from stuff what’s been out there for a few years. The Your so vain sessions for example.Sceptical on this.

I passed a copy of the whole tape, there are more songs all in perfect quality. Carly is delighted to have it and thanked me for sending it. I will let her decide what she would like to say about it. Having been chased by many news outlets I gave a brief interview for AP which is as much as I am prepared to say. In summary, I found it on an old tape and having seen the story about Carly looking for it I sent it to Rolling Stone who had agreed to forward it to her.

It is great that Carly got a copy of the tape. I have always loved ‘Your So Vain’ and Micks backing vocals on that track. Here is hoping that we get to hear the full tape one day. Well done Matt. Were these tracks documented before?

Cheers
Andrew
