Stones Christmas album............

Why not? I mean Eric Clapton is releasing one in October.

We've had Blue and Lonesome. Why not Blue and Festive?

Honestly, I think this would be a massive hit.

What's the fuss?

Keith already did it (at least the one single), so it's old hat.

Actually, when you think about it, there is a very strong connection between Gospel, Blues Music and Christmas.
So probably loads of artists from those genres have released singles/albums in the past with a Christmas theme. Clapton's choices seem a bit safe, rather than delving into some less known spiritual tunes which you might have expected?

If the Stones were to release a Christmas album, I think it would contribute to make them appear pathetic! And softened old and nostalgic as well!

I prefer them not to end up that way.

There are 2 reasons why I became/ I am a Stones fan:

1. There is no musical about them.
2. They don´t have a Christmas album.

You could understand Bob Dylan making an Xmas album; he has some religious affiliation to Born Again Christianity.

A hard pass on the concept of a stones xmas album.

Now.. a new album release in time for xmas, followed by an in person spectacle announcement of a NA tour to support it?
Yes please.

A. Winter
B1. Run Rudolph Run
B2. Cosmic Christmas

Add Mick's Charles Brown pastiche, "Lonely Without You (This Christmas)" to Keith's "Run, Rudolph, Run" and toss on "Winter" by the Stones and by Mick Taylor with Carla and release it as an EP.

Nostalgic? They are a nostalgia act and have been for a decade.

No thanks. Not their style at all.

An Album for Christmas, though....

Nostalgic are their setlists, but somehow not their performances all the same. Due to their stagnant setlists though, I abstained myself from going to any concerts during this year's part of their continued tour.

Besides, in my post I indicated that a Christmas album would make them appear not only nostalgic, but even softenend nostalgic.

Added: And I forgot to say, you are the one, that wants it.

Can't really imnagine the Stones doing it ever, but I can see Mick solo or collaborating with a younger performer like Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, or Justin Timberlake on a Christmas tune or two.

Can see it now after the Queen's message; Mick wearing a cardigan and singing Jingle Bells to his grandchildren.

You could squeeze it on the 45...they did as much with the first ep, 5x5 and the Got Live EP!
