Yes, it was mentioned a couple of times in the Mick's Birthday Celebrations thread, but that was a while ago so a reminder is a good idea.

Just noticed it myself, and also much repeated and really good, Stones at the BBC about an hour later.

Preceded by a bunch of old Top of the Pops clips from 1971: Brown Sugar live, and then Rod Stewart singing Maggie May backed by all the Faces: Ronnies Wood and Lane, Ian Mac, Kenney Jones and even John Peel pretending to play the mandolin.

I remember taping it on Beta max back in the day... 33 years ago !

I definitely watched this when it was originally broadcast in 1985. I was coming up on 18 and getting stressed up about my A levels, which I sat a few months later.

With only 4 channels on U.K. TV back then and obviously no internet, getting any kind of news on the Band was impossible, especially if, like me no-one else you knew took much interest in them. They were generally seen as very passé and old hat at that stage of their career and their later resurgence was some way off.

But their hardy core of loyal fans stuck by them

Ditto only I was doing o levels that I flunked. Oh well

I´m taking the night off and would love to go deep with the last tour. So would love to know your favorite youtube clips? :-)
