Twisted sister was a clown band. "is like being driven in a tour bus by José Feliciano and Ray Charles without GPS". At least the guy is creative on jokes!
I thought some of his insults were pretty damn funny, to be honest.Quote

Yes and this Jay Jay French character is bonafide Bozo.
That said, he makes some valid points in his tirade.
"But THE STONES insist that you watch them decompose in front of your eyes for a high ticket price. And they suck so bad".
Lol what a dick this guy is, but that is a funny line...sounds like something Don Rickles might have said.
Twisted Sister played their final live gigs last year...they're officially retired. I watched some live videos and I honestly thought they sounded great, although I'm not a fan. Dee Snider is in incredibly @#$%& shape for his age and he's still got his voice. The rest of the band, I really couldn't care less about.Quote

Ironically I was having lunch with my brother last week. A friend of ours saw Priest in Seattle last week and thought it was a great show with Saxon. My brother mentioned JJ French talking trash about them although I didn't realize he was knocking the Stones, too. I think he's recently trashed Paul Stanley, too.
I didn't even know Twisted Sister were still around!

Yeah, I saw Priest and Saxon last month...both were phenomenal. I'd never seen Saxon before and was very impressed. Biff Byford has a ton of energy and was headbanging his mane of white hair around like he was still 30. It was inspiring.
Priest were great too. Even better was Glenn Tipton came out onstage as a surprise for the encore (Metal Gods, Breaking the Law, Living After Midnight). He got a HUGE ovation from the crowd...he looked frail but very happy by the crowd response, and still played great. The songs chosen for the encore were clearly the poppier rock songs that are relatively easy to play.

Speaking about bands which have continued performing well past their prime, French said: "[JUDAS] PRIEST is 65 years, 70 years old, SAXON's 80 @#$%& years old. THE ROLLING STONES are 90 years old. Watching Keith [Richards] and [Ronnie Wood] trying to play guitar is like being driven in a tour bus by José Feliciano and Ray Charles without GPS — it's a terrifying @#$%& experience. If THE STONES were smart, they'd hire two 25-year-old guys from Nashville who know how to play their song parts and let these two cadavers walk around on stage and @#$%& act like Johnny Depp in @#$%& 'Pirates Of The Caribbean'. They can't @#$%& play. And it bothers me they charge eight hundred dollars [for a ticket]. At least when you go to see THE EAGLES, there's 45 guys on stage, 'cause you want the [band] to sound like THE EAGLES. And when you see go see Roger Waters, there's 45 guys on stage, 'cause you wanna hear what 'The Wall' sounds like. But THE STONES insist that you watch them decompose in front of your eyes for a high ticket price. And they suck so bad.
"I get annoyed only because we work so hard to be perfect every night," he continued. "And I watched them. I've been a STONES fan, by the way, all my life and saw them at the peak of their @#$%& life — in '69, '70, '71, '72. They were arguably the greatest rock band on the planet earth. And there's a DVD, 'Ladies And Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones', which you can watch. Why are they happy sounding so bad when you've got this?

Thanks to the fanmazing OKEJ-magazine (huuuuuuge among teens in the 80s) I do remember Jay-Jay and his Ray bans. Jay Jay and Dee. Thank you for two anthems that helped us teens express our anger and hatred of Swedish State TV, the moral crusade against everything American, rock videos, cable TV, horror films, porn, heavy metal etc. We’re not gonna take it. We wanna rock and we love it loud (Kiss).

He also does claim:
"Now, PRIEST. Look what you've got with PRIEST. K.K.'s [Downing, guitar] gone — he went to golf. And now Glenn's [Tipton, guitar] left. And it's wonderful. And now it's a cover band, essentially..."
And:
"... You guys don't even know that [LED] ZEPPELIN was deteriorating so badly that by 1975, you couldn't go to a ZEP concert without throwing up,They were so bad! You couldn't give tickets away to ZEP concerts, but if you came to see ZEBRA playing ZEPPELIN on Long Island, you heard perfect ZEPPELIN — perfect LED ZEPPELIN. If you saw RAT RACE CHOIR, you saw perfect PINK FLOYD, you saw perfect EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER..."
Oh, Jay Jay seems to be very "strict" critic... Bur he says about his band:
"TWISTED SISTER is a perfectionist band, We've played thousands of shows. Every show is perfect. Every show is the last show of our life..."
I suppose he believes that the entire music is dead since 2016, just because TS decided to retire in 2016. And all the other acts are "sucking", or turning to cover bands, or, or...
Do you tell me that we have to take seriously the particular guy, who could be the definition of the word "narcissist"? Really? Gimme a @#$%& break...

"He is a guitar player, and I suspect he's basing this on guitar playing, more than that of the sound of the whole band. That's how I read it anyway..."
Dandy, as I see, he has positive (very positive!) things to say for one band. Just one. For his own band... Common, the guy is hostile and envious...
And when Jay Jay says "Led Zeppelin was deteriorating so badly that by 1975, you couldn't go to a Zeppelin without throwing up,..", I don't think he is only criticizing some parts of moments of Page's playing. Same with his "opinion" about the Stones.

There were three anthems. One of them was from the 60s, though

Haha! Thanks Dandie
And yes of course TS is a freaking joke and yes The Stones can play but yes they were f-ing awesome in 1972-73 (1969-1973).
