Just interviewed former Atlantic promo cat Mario Medious for the book I'm doing on Atlantic - awesome guy - told me how Jagger had him do the voiceover on this spot - told him he had to "sound like a pimp" lol (he's narrating behind the vocals)
He doesn't sound like no pimp; but still sounds cool. It is curious to me: so let's say, we know that Jagger himself was involved in that particular clip. He is aware of what photos are what, which pics invoke what era, and sentiment. In other words - he knows what the Stones do to us. He can't FEEL it, but he knows how to lay it out. So, why oh why, did they choose to take this particular path for the late era? This is what I don't get. If he was misguided, and oblivious, there'd be some kind of explanation. I am aware that many people dont think there is any explanation or excuse required at all. That everything is copasetic, or it is nobody's business. And that is all true. I just wonder as an artist, what Jagger thinks of himself. Sorry if that went off topic a little. Its just - at this 11th hour I can not find much use wondering over lead guitars and movie stars, re. the Stones anymore. All been talked and mulled over. Its a few, oddities that puzzle me from time to time.
