Dear IORR friends,
Many of you Stones addicts travel to each and every corner of the globe to see your heroes.
Quite many of you buy every bootleg, official album , every magazine or book that offers a glimpse of your idols. With the world at our feet, it's easy to get lost in Stonesworld. So sit back, relax and read:
Bill Janovitch has written a terrific book about Exile. He went really into the Nellcote basement talked with the ghosts and gives us unknown pleasures! Bill, frontman of Buffalo Tom, has thoroughly examined each and every song and is, lucky for us, gifted with nice writing skills on music. He is able to transfer his musical knowledge in a clear and enthousiastic way. He points out to hidden solo's , crazy noises and odd instruments who all are adding to the excitement. He has interesting conclusions about the album (read yourself) and a great knowledge about the total musical breakdown.
After reading this guide, Exile is back in my cd player, not ready to leave.
Do we need another book on Exile, the owner of John Perry's book may ask? Yes, we do. Perry looks at the album and gives his comments ; Janovitz put his head in the sleeve to get "that crazy feeling" !
Even those who spend the fortunes on Tarle's the making of Exile will be pleased with this book.
For the unfortunate ones: this is exile for the common fan.
A must!
