as expected. sold well in week one (although it had NO competition in the UK) and has gone straight down the charts in week two

who cares?

if they hadn't released such a crap first single the album may have sold a lot more IMO

i see old Macca's just scraped into the top 10 this week too

Well, it lost the #1 for only 11 copies. What were you waiting? A jump to the number one this week? Nowadays, the peak position for the 80% of the albums is during the first week with a strong slide in the second week. ABB will be out of the UK chart in 4-5 weeks because all the fan base already bought the album.

there are other reasons for me..................
1. no enogh radiodiffusion.......... in italy i never heard rj or sol
2. NMEXPRESS or other music magazines didn't review the album
3. no video of rj or sol on tv every ten minutes as 50cents or JBlunt
4. stones had to choose other single to promote the album

when in italy i go in the gym there a lot of tv with music videoclips.........i saw in the past 500.000 times vertigo by u2............stones decided not to do a video before the album realised, why???????????????
an old italian stones fan

schili, with 4 NEW releases of other popular artists #13 is explainable. What do you expect? B2B in the UK first week got only #7 (or #6, i don't remember) and second week was out of top 10.

Be happy. ABB was #1 worldwide, #1 on Eurochart, high positions almost everywhere. It's time to see the whole sales, not only the positions...

PS Macca first week #10... And Simple Minds #37!!??

#2 James Blunt 40,322

#10 Paul McCartney 22,732

#13 Rolling Stones 19,058

ABB UK total: 43,466 + 19,058: 62,524

This is simple... the CD-buying public is focused on the TEENAGER... high school / college days...

They really don't want to load up on CD's by people old enough to be their grandfathers !

I can't remember any "grandfather rock" albums that I bought in High School... maybe a few old blues guys but mostly I wanted stuff from people my age... that hasn't changed.

Grandfathers aren't gonna stay on top of the CURRENT MUSIC CHARTS for very long.

Just wait, you'll get preliminary numbers tomorrow and official numbers on Wednesday. Actually, ABB is #11 (18k) with the 31% of the count done.

BtB was only in the chart in the UK for 6 weeks. Not important really because it's about you liking it. If you want to push sales up volenteer to stand out side the shops playing the album and tell people to buy it.
