I was listening to a live version of Star Star from the '75 tour and then the version of SS from the 4 flicks dvd. It seems like Keith is playing two different songs. In the '75 version he plays the song in a more fluid, strumming-style. In the '03 version I heard, he plays Star Star like it's a blues song. I much prefer the '75 version. Can anyone comment on this or any nuances they've heard over the years?

He sounds more clean now, wich i don't like, i want the raw riffing keef.

It's because he uses the ES-335(he used a telecaster then). It's more of a BB King sound than rock 'n' roll. And he ain't BB King.

I've never cared for the sound the ES makes. I never cared for BB's sound either. Much too clean. Gimmie grungey guitars

KR ain't BB KIng. He's Keith. Why would he want to be BB? I like his sound; I like all his sounds. That is what he does today. I'm glad he is never the same on two tours. Don't you think that this is a good sign that it almost sounds like two different tunes he's playing? He is an artist, always moving..
And there are plenty dirty guitars on ABB

The sound of BB King's guitar is clean nowadays. But during the sixties and seventies he played with a great warm raw blues sound with his guitar. Same counts for Keith I think. Nowadays playing clean, but during the seventies raw and bluesy.
