you don't burn them on discs? i have them all on disc here. it costs loads of space to save them in FLAC and a computer is not the best sound quality you can get. just burn EVERY CDR bootleg on a regular CDR, like they were ment to. putting it on DVD is also very unhandy.

I have had the same kind of bad experience. All my babyboy 's pictures and part of my collection of Stones 'boots were on my notebook until the day thieves broke into my house and (among other things..)stole my notebook!
Now I systematically burn everything on CD'r

TeleK,
There is software to recover deleted files. Just look around in Google. Especially, if you haven't done to many things with your computer, you have a fair chance to recover most of your files.

Btw, how do I play FLAC files in Windows Media Player?

play them in Foobar2000 instead. Much easier and its more suited for FLAC files

Backups can be time consuming to make but it is worth it. I burn all my stuff to CD and then make another CD copy. One set of CDs is in my house, and the other is in a buddy's house. Even if all my possessions are destroyed I'll still have copies of all my music!

Thank you Gary for the (anti-)Flac-tip, I needed it.

TeleK, why dont you tell us all what you miss the most & we help you out to recover your collection? At least if the other operation dont work.
