We keep talking 'bout the Stones (obviously), Dylan, Mc Cartney and other big ones. How about the fabolous resurrection of Queen.
Your opinions please.

Queen without Freddie Mercury,is like Stones without Mick Jagger.
That`s my opinion
It ain`t easy to put somebody in Mercurys shoes, but if you are happy for their comeback, then I`m happy for you.

Exactly. I just can't picture Paul Rodgers singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "Love of My Life" !!

It´s ridiculous. Ten years ago they said: Without Freddie there will never be Queen again. Now they need some cash...

don't forget not only Freddie is missing also their bassplayer, John Deacon.

so it's like The stones without Mick & Bill. And we sure all miss Bill...

I did not even know that. Makes it even more ridiculous for me. Maybe some act out of respect for Freddie? Or is dear Mr. John Deacon dead?

Absolutely true. Queen without Mercury is not Queen. Strictly paycheck time.

He probably thinks the same as we do: no Queen without Mercury. He's definitely not dead.

Cream? Those three guys are alive - so what´s the problem? If Eric Clapton would be dead and there would be a Cream reunion with let´s say Slash, lol, that would be ridiculous.

Queen were a brilliant band.I was lucky to catch them live in 82 at Elland road.Freddie Mercury was a true showman and great performer. Not Mick but pretty close. To reform Queen is absurd.

I could never stand Queen. Just had no interest in any of their material despite having to endure them once in awhile at some parties. Hated the vocals and arrangements. IMHO they sucked.

May and Taylor are left.
Where's Deacon ? He probably had the decency not to get involved in this.

I saw May on his solo tour and I really enjoyed it, but I boycotted the recent Queen tour. Paul Rogers cannot be compared to Freddie, neither vocally, nor in terms of charisma.
He even didn't know the lyrics of We Will Rock You ! I saw the South African show and he spent half the time watching the screens and reading the lyrics.

IMO the only great frontman for this kind of event tour would've been Robbie Williams.

Deacon has withdrawn himself completely from the music business, and is supposedly enjoying his family life.

But I agree, Although Brian May and Roger Taylor are great musicians and are responsible for a large part of the Queen-sound, they should not call themselves Queen. Maybe a Smile reunion?

Queen died when Freddie did. Great band they "were."

They're not touring as Queen, they're touring as "Queen + Paul Rodgers". They aren't trying to resurrect Queen so much as celebrate the music of the band by teaming up with another rock legend.

"Fabolous resurrection"? I don't think it's the case, sorry.

"got to be worked on
don't have no bark nor bite..."

I wish they would go back away.I hate Queen except for two or three songs(not their two or three biggest hits).I like Bad Company and Paul Rodgers more.Like Richards said about the Stones' disco period : "It could've been worse,we could have been Queen."Mercury was a clown.

Queen at their best were indispensable. Queen I, II, Sheer Heart Attack, Night at the Opera were great albums. Saw them live a couple of times in the mid 70s, absolutely fantastic shows.

Do you like ANYBODY? Britney Spears, perhaps?

I did like Britney Spears before she got married/pregnant.

Queen was a great band in the '70's who lost it in the '80's and were right on the verge of becoming a great band again in the '90's with 'Innuendo', their last album. Unfortunately, Freddie's death took care of that, RIP. But without Freddie, they are nothing. This tour smacks of pure opportunism and nothing more.

Saw them in Germany this summer. Paul Rogers is a great singer und did a very good job. He did not try to copy Freddy Mercury. The Songs with him on vocals realy rocked ! The Problem was, that he was not on stage for the half of the show. It was mostly a May + Taylor concert with endless guitar und drum solos. Very oldfashioned.
