Oh yeah, how could I forget. But I substituted that one for "Cherish", and that song by Minnie Ripperton.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Minnie's "Lovin' You"? Did you know she started her career in a bluesy band called Rotary Connection that used to play Stones songs (Lady Jane & Ruby Tuesday) in their set? Cool band - they played at the '69 Texas Pop festival.

baboon bro!
From Oslo. They are great live.
In this pop-age area it`s difficult for good bands with real musicians to climb up the mountains.

Really, that's pretty funny. I've never heard anything else by her, just that one song, which is my absolute favorite song to sing when I want to crack my friends up.

I think her range was something like 6 octaves - is yours? :-) She died at a very young age shortly after her big hit....she was a serious talent.

"Oh my, my
Oh hell yes
Got to put on that party dress!
Buy me a drink, sing me a song
Take me as I am 'cause I can't stay long"
Last Dance With Mary Jane -Tom Petty
It's just one favorite, but the real favorites would be by the Stones

Is mine - Absolutely not!! I can't carry a tune to save my life, that's why I pick the hardest song in the whole world to sing to crack my friends up. 6 octaves, I don't know anything about music, how many does a normal singer have? Let's use someone famous like Britney for a comparison.

Well in that case, I will cease to disrespect that song any further. What's that line about a critic is someone who can't do something but judges others. I'm terrible with cliques.

That reminds me of that Woody Allen movie...

"They say those can't do - teach, and those that can't teach - teach gym".

"Mississsippi" from Dylan's "Love and Theft" is generous and beautiful.

"Bandit" from Neil Young's "Greendale" is breathtaking. As perfect an acoustic ballad as he has ever done. Can't reccomend it enough...
