According to the IORR news below is there anybody on this board that can tyvo and burn the show on a DVD for us.

"Aug. 31: Aint Too Proud To Beg in Detroit
The Rolling Stones replaced "Shattered" in the original Detroit set list with "Aint Too Proud To Beg" tonight. The sold out show was recorded by plenty of cameras, and an hour from the show will be broadcasted on ABC at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Sept. 8. See details about the show in Detroit. "

I am sure that we can set up a tree !
Please let me know via email ([email protected])

I got the bbq almost ready, the beers are chilling,a few fellow Stones fans are coming over, and my favorite team is playing at 9p.m. I'm so psyched. Can't wait to see The Stones rock out. It feakin feels like Christmas. Later y'all,cw GO RAIDERS!

Re: ABC - Detroit Show

is it really going to be a full hour of Stones?
I just can't see them playing half of a show so soon on TV.
cuz Green Day, Carlos Santana, Trisha Yearwood, Maroon 5 and Kanye West are also on with Good Charlotte and 17-year-old pop sensation Rihanna
I bet it will be only 15 min maybe
theres no way it's an hour or even a half hour

i don't think it'll be a full hour of music - but my understanding is that it will be aired between 5-6pm (EDT) before the kickoff the game. So, I suspect we'll get maybe 30-40 minutes of actual Stones....

I am planning on recording this to DVD and will gladly make some copies for the good folks on here.

BUT...It is nowhere near a full hour of The Stones. There are several artists featured ,as well as some NFL propaganda, we will probably get 2 or 3 songs from our boys at the most!

I will make 5 copies and send them to the first 5 who email me at

rock_cd@hotmail.com

and are willing to send a stamped/addressed mailer.

Billboard.com confirms that it is 1 song by the Stones:

Ozzy Osbourne will make a surprise appearance tonight (Sept. 8) in Foxboro, Mass., as part of ABC's "NFL Kickoff" show, Billboard.com has learned. As previously reported, Green Day, Trisha Yearwood and Santana with Michelle Branch will also play at the event, which will be followed by the first game of the NFL season between the New England Patriots and the Oakland Raiders.

"NFL Kickoff" will also feature highlights from a show tonight at Los Angeles Coliseum, with performances from Kanye West, Maroon 5, Good Charlotte and Rihanna, as well as a live song from the Rolling Stones' concert in Detroit.

Who is they? I was never under the impression that it was a show entirely of Stones performances. Here in L.A., they have been advertising for a couple weeks about the free performances in the L.A. Memorial Coliseum by Kanye West, Good Charlotte and others that are being used in the special.

"its not just the stones its other bands too, bummer

It's been abundantly clear in all the promos here in the states that Green Day, Santana, MAroon 5, some lame rapper et al would be in this show. That's the way they do these things, with something for every demographic.

"Start Me Up" - ABC got what they wanted with one of the most identifiable songs ever sampled in every sports stadium and arena in the US. Plus they got Mick delivering a promo schtick for NFL before rough "ROugh Justice." At the show itself Mick peevishly shrugged the line off saying he "just did it for some TV show..."

"Rough Justice" The Stones got a worldwide media venue to promote their new, album and tour.

Scaffer mentioned this on another post, but did you notice how a fake audience-noise track was playing along with the Stones? Wonder whose idea this was???
