Any Italians here or someone who has experience with Lucca festival?
How do I get around there? I booked a room in Pisa, it's very close to Lucca which was maybe a little too expensive.
Is it easy to get from Lucca to Pisa at night? There are regional trains there but there seems to be a night break.

Lucca is just 20 km and 40 minutes by train away from Pisa, with many hotels. Also, Viareggio and Livorno are nearby great coastal places to stay if you don't find accomodation in Lucca.

I'm not sure if you are referring to my previous post or not. Pisa seems alright, I'm only concerned about getting from Lucca to Pisa at night. I already contacted the festival on Facebook. Will report here if any info.

Lucca is a city of 90,000 people. Most fans will travel to Lucca from all over Italy. I am sure there will be bus transportation and many other options from nearby areas like Pisa, Viareggio, Grosetto, Florence, Livorno etc. Most fans will need transportation so you will not be alone when you are looking for transportation in and out of Lucca.

Maybe I missed it, but does anyone know how many people the festival site holds.

anyone knows if the area of festival is fenced? I mean - I could see and hear something, being without ticket. I am asking because I think I couldn't buy ticket till July..

Regarding transportation issues, I was born and spent my youth in Lucca. I lived in a village 10 km away, my parents still live there. To my knowledge, you need a car to get around. There are buses and trains to Florence, Viareggio and Pisa during the day but not at night. When we went to see a concert in Florence as teenagers or went to parties our parents used to pick us up. Not sure if there will be special transport serices organised for this event. Still visit my famiy twice a year, Lucca is a beautiful town.

Lucca is a beautiful town with much to offer the visitor. There is a great deal to see in Tuscany and the weather at that time will be perfect. I recommend anyone coming from afar to stay at least a few extra days.

That's exactly my plan, coming from Spielberg via bicycle and stay one week in advance in beautiful Tuscany!

Question: does anyone know if Ticketmaster is handling the Lucca ticket sale or maybe another? I was wanting to get signed up/registered in advance, so I don't have to worry about it as the tickets go on sale. I'm here in Texas so I'm struggling a bit with the process, not to mention the language!

Does anyone know how the Amex presale will happen for this? Will it be on ticketone at 9am tomorrow?

Thanks for the new map - that's much clearer than the other one.

Are the presale start times in local (Italian) time? Also, I asked on the general thread but here seems more appropriate, are we able to purchase tickets from the U.S. Does anyone know for sure?

You can switch to English, but there's still lots of Italian when you switch, so be aware that you pick the right ticket, Pit or Prato A are the ones to get!

Nope - nothing available. When I first got in they were, or showed they were at least so I added two to the cart and as soon as I got past the robot code it told me nothing available. Haven't seen anything since, other than VIP.
