Would be nice if they re-released this on DVD...and maybe added some new material to cover the many years that have since transpired!

Updated or not, I'd still love to get a look at the original someday. The few excerpts I've seen are very cool.

25x5 was never officially released on DVD.

I still have my old vhs copy too. Back then it was a treasure trove of material...no internet, only a few cable channels...no other outlet to see that stuff.

If there is money to be made, am sure it will eventually get a DVD release.

This was a great unofficial documentary that unfortunately seems to be unavailable but was more comprehensive than 25X5:

As I remember I haven't viewed it lately though 25x5 goes up do about 1989(Steel Wheels) Crossfire Hurricane kinda drops off after 1981... So I wouldn't say it updates 25 x 5, because the complaint was the director didn't go any further or deeper on CH was the complaint? right ?

I still have laser disc version of 25x5 and Gimme Shelter.
They can select Japanese subtitle, though.

never heard of that one, Bleedingman, but I'd love to see the full version. I like Zappa's soundbite too!

Yes, Zappa's statement in Let It Bleed is beautiful and true :E
and I agree that LIB is much closer to an update of 25x5 than Crossfire Hurricane is.
If folks ask nicely in the "hot stuff" forum I bet someone wonderful will upload 25x5 and Let It Bleed

25x5 is the most political correct view of the band, interestingly enough given by themselves....they knew they had to show a new face at that truly conservative times....they had to make that step and they did it right....otherwise they would destroy the`place the market deserved to them. They lied all the time in 25x5.

thumbs up + the treatmeant of Brian, the erased Taylor (more or less). They can't sell this PR piece again, too dated. I loved it back then though.
