I Gotta Go

2, 3, 4...

Leaving in the morning, baby, I know I got to go
Leaving in the morning, baby, you know I got to go
I've got the blues and I can't stay here no more

I ain't seen my baby and the evening sun is going down
I ain't seen my baby and the evening sun is going down
I've got the blues and I can't stay in your town

Come on

Moon is rising and the sun is just going down - yeah
Moon is rising and the sun is now going down
I've got the blues and I can't stay a-around

Ronnie, come on

I ain't seen my baby and the evening sun is going down
I ain't seen my baby and the evening sun is going down
I've got the blues and my baby can't be found

Would easily fit on Rolling Stones Now!
And that's meant as a compliment.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Two things stand out on this track: The absolutely fabulous intro and the incredible swing throughout!

I never thought I'd hear the Stones rock and swing like this ever again. Ronnie is superb on this track, too. It rocks like Turd On The Run, but in a more authentic bluesy way - and not in a 70s rock way.

One of the highlights on Blue And Lonesome, imo.

For me too. This track has a certain "It Ain't Right" feel, which was not by coincidence originally recorded by Little Walter as well.

Agree on the incredible swing throughout. As for the 'highlight' ... it is a great cover but as it is in my 2nd half of rankings, of an album full of great covers, I can't list it as a highlight. But no way I'm skipping it, by any means.

By highlight I meant that it stands out because of it's groove, which is different than that of the others + Ronnie's guitar break (which unfathomably is buried under Mick's harp). It's always a joy when I hear Mick's counting and clapping before they start this one.
