I guess we will reach 1000 pages before anybody holds that new album in his hand (if ever)

1000 pages seems a bit much (hopefully) but 500 is still a realistic goal.

Someone mentioned in Charlie's tribute thread that Darryl just recently mentioned that he will meet the Stones in London soon. Of course, Charlie's tribute must be the reference (even though he seemingly didn't perform there), but still that sounds like there is something more going on. That he specifically will meet the band, not just personally attending to Charlie's memorial. A session?

They should have their sessions done by now. A line has been drawn, now they have to work with what they already got. There shouldn't be any further development to the songs that require new takes, drum tracks wiped and replaced. In a way they're lucky as they should have a perspective purpose of the material now.

When you mix, you often lose bass lines. That's how Keith, Mick Taylor, or Ronnie often came to replace Bill's contributions (at least in part). It wasn't always the rhythm track being cut without Bill present. If Darryl is in London for sessions, it would almost certainly be overdubbing. The session in the Spring was reportedly Mick with Ronnie and Charlie. They may be replacing a keyboard bass line Matt played or something Mick played that Darryl can do with more feel.

I hope it will be worthy of the 16 year wait. In some respects, you have to think that if they're finally 'ready' to put it out, it should be good.

I also remember it as three riffs. Some years ago Keith mocked (?) a bit Mick's being prolific as a songwriter and then said something like "I've got three riffs and they're dynamite", which to me sounded like he wanted to say that maybe he didn't write as many songs but what he came up with was really great whereas much of Mick's output wasn't. (Of course I could have gotten it all wrong.) The link to the interview can certainly be found a few hundred pages up ... spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Hmm, yeah, counting from the beginning of the work on the new album that'll make, on an average, two riffs per year. But who's to say whether they're all dynamite? - OK, for present purposes also killer will do ... smiling bouncing smiley

Sssshh! "Compilation" is the evil word, never to be pronounced aloud so it won't spark an idea! We'd prefer to be spared from "Shtonk" or "60 Shticks" ... eye popping smiley

I can't think of them all but there are a few names on here from Can't You Hear Me Knocking. There are a lot of gas lights in SE Louisiana so it's kind of a combination of that lyric from that awesome song and where I live.

It's likely unintentional but lyrically it seems to be some kind of added character to the midnight rambler.

Ah. So he'll be faxxing his guitar tracks in for the continued work on the album.

Ah, but soon he'll most likely be in the Turks And Caicos at his place on Pirate Cay (unfortunately renamed Parrot Cay) - perhaps he can send his guitar tracks in a bottle.

or he already did his part while he was in london?

or from new york over the last year?

maybe they just needed darryl?

Maybe they'll recording in the US since most of the co-musicians & the producer living there?

HA HA y'all... faxxing guitar tracks and putting guitar tracks in a bottle to be thrown into the Atlantic... neither of those made ya giggle even a tiny bit? It was just a tad facetious.
