Disc 1 sort of reminded me of Flashpoint, but I guess about half of disc one wasn't on there. I was surprised they haven't put Tumblin' Dice on a recent one yet since they always play it. I remember someone on here talking about how it was supposed 33 tracks? Does anyone know what the tracks they left off are?
Good point about "Dice"--hasn't made it to a live record since "Love You Live."
I went to Roseland and the Orpheum and boy, did I want some of those performances to make the cut. And, of course, what happened to "Rocks Off" is so incredibly dumb...
And yet: The performances on "Live Licks" sound wonderful to me. Especially the first disc. Nothing we haven't heard a million times before, but they nail that stuff. A great rock'n'roll band.
If they had included Midnight Rambler in place of YCAGWYA and Loving Cup for Rocks Off. Or even just fix that edit then I think Live Licks would have been much better.
Hell, I'd even put Heart Of Stone in place of Start Me Up, which has been on way too many live albums.
Can someone explain to me how a mistake like the edit on Rocks off can happen?nobody listens to the tracks before burning them? I could understand if it comes from a self produced garage band but the Rolling Stones!!
