The Worst thing about seeing the Stones Live
Posted by: ttutone ()

Every time I see the World's Greatest Rock n Roll Band play I end up with the same feeling time and time again.

What you ask?

That in your blood desire to see them lining up behind Charlie's kit once again ready to pounce on the stage like a lion on it's prey.

It has been about a month since the almost no go show in Vegas and all I can think about is seeing them again and that energy adrenaline rush that fills my spirit when I do.

Then time passes and my toughts cools a bit.....until I see them again ....then the whole process begins again.

As Keith might say, "All part of that viscous cycle"

Till the next time we say goodbye my friends

This year, I went to see my second Stones show in Vegas with the thought, that after that I'd have seen them again one last time and my thirst would be satisfied. But now I just want to see them as many times as I possibly can. Can't wait for the next tour! >grinning smiley<

Very depressed in 2013 after the two Boston shows. Haven't seen them since and I had the gut feeling like it was over for bean town at that point. Hope I'm wrong

People taking a bathroom break during Keith's set.

As with any show, people talking and not really giving a shit. I have been to a number of Stones shows where I sit next to folks who somehow paid three times as much as I did for the ticket, yet spend half the show talking and the other half in line for beer. Baffling.

The size of the venues. I've seen them 25 times. The smallest place was the Baltimore Arena (13,000) in 2006.

Yes that is one of the worst.
At a Who show at the L.A. Coliseum back in 1982, a hefty sloppy drunk dude in front of me sang every word to Behind Blue Eyes louder than Roger Daltrey. I tried to tap him on the shoulder to politely hush him, but he was really into it and had tears running down his face, so I let him do his thing . Kind of funny that I still remember that, but it was one of the most annoying and torturous moments at any concert I've ever attended.

Can you imagine the horror of being IN the Stones, thus never able to see them live? The horror! Those poor, sad bastards.

At a 1989 Who show, I sat near a guy who during Behind Blue Eyes sang, "No one knows what it's like to feel these feelings like I do AND I BLAME YOU, MOTHERF-CKER, YOU B-TCH." Really. I can't make this stuff up.

Yes, I also wondered this sometimes. They have more money than we all together but aren't able to see the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world at least one time.

Well there's one way, just ask Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor.

For me the worst thing is the repetition in the set lists, especially with the last half-dozen or so tunes. For a band with their catalog of material, it's a shame so little of it makes it into the repertoire.

1) Drunken people who only once want to see The Stones and tryed to go to the front of the stage.
And they came over from behind and are comming a 5 minutes before show starts.
Go to hell with those craps.
This is for European gigs in stadiums, parks, open Fields. (No seats in front) with a small Golden circle, VIP, or whatever you call it.

2) The opcomming of the smartfhones to film the show, near you, before you, after you.

greets,

...is that they play the same 12-13 songs since 1989 at almost every show. I hate Miss You, Tumbling Dice etc. but as a CD collector I have to hear them three, four times each week. Horrible situation ;-)

"The Worst thing about seeing the Stones Live"

The wait! In Europe it's GA so if you show up early (like 10am) you'll get the front row experience. smiling bouncing smiley
But that requires so much waiting and yawning that I won't do it again ever.

Indeed. How I despise that. You pay good money to hear The Stones playing and to hear the legendary Mick Jagger singing those iconic songs and some blithering fools think everybody around them wants to hear THEM singing at the top of their off-key lungs. Newsflash - We do not.

"Gonna find my way to heaven ..."

But those are the people who are periscoping a live feed that we all enjoy here.

People who spend most of the show fetching and carrying glasses of beer and end up spilling lots of it over you...

But yes, I know exactly what ttutone means.
