All in all, a pretty good year. My Gilmour show, at the 3,800 seat Auditorium Theater in Chicago, was obviously the highlight, but being front-row center for The Rides (close enough to smell Stills's BO) was pretty cool too, and as a lifelong Jethro Tull fan, the experience of seeing Martin Barre play two full sets of Tull classics in a bar and grill with a seating capacity of 180, is something that I can't repeat soon enough.


I was also inadvertently an eye-witness to a few other things, including:

Nate Ruess of the indie-pop band Fun. performing at a Bernie Sanders for president rally
The rapper Flo Rida's halftime show at a Detroit Pistons playoff game
Aretha Franklin's "legendary" 4 minute and 35 second rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day game.

I also missed some good shows that, for one reason or another (maybe my wife had to work, or I just wasn't able to find the right seats at the right price), I just wasn't able to get to. The three that immediately come to mind are:
