I have never heard of her. I looked at the article to see who she was and seeing how its a Brit story was wondering how long it would take befroe I saw the word brilliant I noticed this is big letters right away.

what an awful year!!

Yes its a really awful year, all these people passing away then by brother went and did it, 56 and really healthy, he was a great and well respected drummer in Northampton England, been it lots of bands his latest being Jazz Butcher, they were and underground punky jazz band from the 80's.

Life just keeps throwing us these punches. RIP my baby brother Steve.

This really isn't a year to be a 60+ British entertainer or musician

I met her once. I was playing with a singer/comedienne and she came to one of the Edinburgh gigs. She was lovely, and annoyingly talented. I grew up watching her shows and she will be much missed.

It wasn't being used in the British colloquial sense--though that would have applied too--but in the same sense I assume you might use the word. She WAS a brilliant (mega-smart, sharp, inspired) comedienne, with impeccable timing and delivery. RIP Victoria.

I did point out that she was very popular in the U.K.

It's like us over the pond here wouldn't know a lot of the R.I.P. posts about well known people over there, but still respect the fact they have passed away.

Met her fleetingly on the East Coast main line in the UK she was making a documentary on rail travel for the BBC, lovely woman and very talented.
