The Philly soundboards are much different than Hampton. The beginning of the 1981 tour had no Sax players and the band
played much faster, similar to the 1978 tour. You Can't Always Get What You Want sounded more like Love You Live than the
1981 versions that are well known (Hampton and KBFH Radio Shows). Go-Go wasn't on the set list until much later in the
tour and Down the Road Apiece would make appearances at the beginning of the tour. Tops had some great moments, warts
and all. Detroit saw some great shows that sound what we know as 1981.

Mona made an appearance in Philadelphia but was quickly dropped. Mona didn't go over well. I was there.

My picks are Philly soundboards (It would be good to combine them to make one better show), Detroit shows, Hamptons and
the KBFH. Down the Road Apiece VGP-303 has a nice version of the title track (Down the Road Apiece).

I think KBFH had songs that were considered for Still Life but didn't make the cut. My guess is that the Stones wanted a
fast party album and great cuts such as Let It Bleed and Waiting on a Friend were cut. KBFH has alternate versions of
material on Still Life including Twenty Flight Rock, Time is on My Side and Under My thumb.

The first broadcasts of KBFH 81 Stones included these alternate versions (pre- 1989 broadcasts). These can be found on
the original Mission Direct Hits, Black Limousine and Ride Like the Wind (4-CD set).

Great find! This is one of the rare photos documenting (and I quote) "the gag employed during the first gigs of the 1981 tour, when the Stones switched to lefthanded guitars and sang (Just My) Imagination backwards. It was quickly dropped because it used to freak Ronnie Wood's freebase cocaine dealer out."

One really cool thing about the first Philly show was that we didn't expect the Mick on the cherry picker!

Here are a few more images to find yourself under the cherry picker.

Can you scan the photo. It'll be easier to find.

It looks the the red shirt from that Mick wore in Philadelphia but it's later in the tour. I can tell by Mick's longer hair.

It may be a movie still from Let's Spend the Night Together movie.

Looks like it. During JMI Tempe 1981 perhaps.

I do not have the photo, that's why I'm looking for it. To redo the art of cover, which is a classic in cassette bootlegs in Argentina, which are no longer available.
Long live the Stones!
