Here's the article that mentions Trump's use of Sympathy for the Devil, You Can't Always Get What You Want, and Brown Sugar at his rallies. I don't think it's common these days for artists to allow their music to be used in this way unless they actually endorse the candidate, or received money for granting their permission.

Even if Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton used their music without permission I would argue against it just as vehemently.

I am not an expert on this type of thing, but aren't there laws and rules and contracts and fees etc etc that SPECIFICALLY spell out who and where and why and how much is paid to play anyone's music for a commercial venture? and running for President (trying to be POTUS) is as commercial venture (e.g. buying a Billion Dollars worth of advertising) as anything ever.

Don't jukeboxes and bar bands and radio stations and everyone else who is making making money where the music is being played have to get permission and pay a fee?

These rules seem simple cut-and-dried ... then again it doesn't seem like any of these candidates care about rules when it comes to the rules being applied to them.

I would have assumed anyone using copyrighted music in a public forum should have to pay for it?

As money driven as the Stones are I would also assume they don't care who uses it as long as they get paid. Which is the correct way to look at it in my opinion.

As a side note. Darlene Love is suing Google who blatently used one of her Christmas songs in nationwide commerecials. How does this happen??

Side note. A wise man once told me to always remember that politicians are not your friends or advocates no matter what they may say or portend to believe in.
