I'd say yes on the dress code.

The two songs Taylor played were blues standards. Not especially adventurous but good and heartfelt on Taylor's part, I thought.

Duke - Your description of Taylor's slot is exactly what I thought. Simple, yet beautiful. Loved seeing Ronnie bopping around, full of fun and playing like an ace.

Glad for all that got to see the show, and thanks for the pics, Bjornulf!

I liked the Strypes. They had a very sixties British blues vibe.

Great photos Bjornulf

I got some nice shots myself.

I was on the front rail I'm pretty sure you were standing close so I thought about coming over and saying hello but I've never met you before and didn't want to disturb you whilst watching the gig.

Fantastic show

Nate thumbs up

I was watching and listening to the first part of the show upto the Leigh Wood Christmas song. Then I had to go out and about but stopped for a quick lunch
and unfortunately their wifi connection must not have been good enough for the stream. Just a few stills every now and then. What did Ronnie play?

I noticed in the Thank you credits, at the end of the show, that Mick Jagger was included. My guess he is probably a significant doener or helped bring the bands in.

This would have been a very fun evening and I'm so glad to see Mick Taylor back
on stage!!!!

An enjoyable evening.

I bumped into Bernard in the street a couple of hours before the doors opened - he was looking for a pub, charming as ever, and worried about the lack of rehearsal time. An unnecessary worry - they sounded great.

Scala is a tiny venue, less than 1000 capacity I guess and lots of balconys for views. Sound excellent.

The early two bands, Hidden Charms and The Strypes, played well to the largely young audience. I guess the Stones kids involved in this charity mobilised their friends - there were maybe 30 or 40 Stones fans I could see. And lots of video cameras.

Whats great about these small gigs is bumping into people you've heard of but don't even recognise - I spent a few minutes talking to Doug Wimbish about sound mixing - he was monitoring it at the desk before coming on-stage. Bernard mixed-up the band members quite a lot - different drummers, bass, guitar - no wonder he was concerned over practice. But these guys were all pros - playing well and enjoying themselves.

Mick Taylor played a typically fluid blues-oriented mini-set. He looked much slimmer and fitter than even a year ago.

Ronnie was on sparkling form, really wired-up when he came on stage, maybe full of energy after a day in the recording studio? He sang one number without Bernard and they did a ripping version of Stay with Me - I guess that really is Ronnie's Face anthem and everyone was bopping around.

We managed to leave 30 seconds too late, right on Ronnie & Sally's heels as they left through a crowd of photographers and a couple of autograph hunters. Fun evening, good cause, and a great warm-up before South America.

Agree with all the others that this was a fantastic evening. Bernard said his act was put together in two days and it was funny to see him squinting to read out the names of his band members and hoping that he got them right, which he seemingly did, except in one case where he accidentally reversed the first name and surname. The setlist must have had some last-minute changes, as it varied from the printed version, which included Knock on Wood and Satisfaction, and they also had a print-out of the lyrics to She's So Cold.

In any case, they put on a cracking show to a very lively atmosphere in that great little venue. MT and Ronnie were the obvious highlights and a real treat, but the other acts were also good, notably the Strypes, who were very high energy and brought Franz Ferdinand to mind. MT looked very well in his slimmed-down form and Ronnie was his usual bouncy and fun self, jumping around all over the stage. It was a great night to remember. Orlando Bloom was also spotted enjoying himself in the audience.

No, he only agreed to let the promoter use a picture of him wearing a Project 0 baseball cap on social media. I suspect James supplied the image.

No. 9 wasn't Waiting On A Friend, it was I Gotta See from I Feel Like Playing. The last song was Just Kissed My Baby by The Meters, but I forget the one before that.

A good question duke and one we were asking ourselves as we had hoped the gig might have had that as a finale. Still a great night though.

Bernard Fowler didn't include it in the setlist.

Great night at a lovely venue suitable for short people. Really enjoyed the Strypes set, it had the right kind of rawness. An excellent set from Bernard. Mick Taylor played well and looked well and healthy. Ronnie gave an excellent energetic performance. It was lovely talking to you Green Lady.grinning smiley

"Give that man a pick!" shouted Bernard.A hilarious moment ,when Bernard was just going to kick off a song, and Woody realises he had no guitar pick.

The Strypes alone were worth the price of admission, and yes, it's a very nice small venue if they ever want to do a surprise gig (please?). I think they could probably have got another hundred people in there but it was full enough for a good atmosphere. Some of the people on stage must have been there at short notice, which might be why they didn't try anything as ambitious as CYHMK, but Mick Taylor is obviously well and playing well too. Ronnie full of energy and having a ball as usual, especially with Glen Matlock on Stay With Me (though Bernard is no Rod Stewart, but it didn't matter.). A bit of a family party vibe to the evening, with Leah getting up to sing. Pity that Ronnie and Mick T didn't get to play together, but you can't have everything.

Nice chatting to you, Desertblues68, even when I was only hearing one word in four!

I really enjoyed the Strypes. The bass player seemed to be the stand out talent from the band. Some great bass in between bouts of leaping about and long hard stares to the crowd.Yeah, well done to the Strypes!

I had never seen the Strypes before and they are not really my kind of thing but I agree I did think the bass player stood out from the rest of the band.

Nate thumbs up
