Stones smeared by Fox News Channel

Was anyone unfortunate enough to watch The O'Reilly Factor factor last night? Some meathead from Fox's morning show was on whining about "Sweet Neo Con" and how the NFL should dump the Stones because Jagger "hates America".

Jeezus @#$%& Christ, is there any depth that these scumbag wanna be-fascists won't sink to to suppress and intimidate any worldview at odds with the Bush Administration?

I got so angry watching these lowlives smear and make fun of the Stones. It is the Fascist News Channel after all, so I shouldn't have been surprised, but it pissed me off nonetheless.

Well, I certainly don't take Fox's low-class nonsense seriously, but millions of Americans do, unfortunately.

This latest stunt they pulled probably motivated thousands of people to contact the NFL.

I love it! Jagger is selling records. Fox News bought into it hook line & sinker! Look at all of the free publicity ABB is getting!

Like someone else said...I too am glad that the boys can still piss 'em off!

Ross!

John Gibson (another extreme wingnut) was sitting in for O'Reilly, and the guy making the charge against the Stones was Brian Kilmeade from Fox's morning show "Fox and Friends." He "wrote" some book on sports and US Presidents, so obviously he feels qualified to comment on the topic

He said that Jagger "isn't even American" and is 75 years old, so why should they be associated with the NFL? He also took a swipe at Springsteen, saying "at least 50% of the audience doesn't like him because of his politics." Blah blah blah.

Anyway, yes it's kinda cool that the Stones can still piss people off, but the jingoistic right-wing climate in America is so out of control nowadays...I just hope ABC shows a spine and doesn't bow to pressure.

But the left wing is totally sane. Howard Dean, Ted Kennedy, Michael Moore.

You hit the nail on the head, Donkey Girl Scout. The Stones would officially cease to exist as a legitimate rock n roll band if the Bush administration were to jump on their bandwagon.

I tell ya, if the Stones can manage to piss of half of Aerica then this will cause them to be held in higher esteem elsewhere in the world! (I'm not anti-American but its just an observation. Look at how the support for the Dixie Chicks increased in Europe following fallout in the USA.)

Look the 'country' star Toby Keith (one example) has a current big hit album, & is very pro administration, as indicated by reviews of his concerts (never heard the records) can anyone imagine a TV news organization, or even a left-wing organization (say MoveOn) discussing a boycott of his corporate ties/cds/shows?

It is a badge of honor to be blasted by the Fox fascists.
Reminds me of when some CNN Crossfire conservative sourpuss sneeringly asked Frank Zappa, "How much money do you make spreading this filth around?"
And Zappa didn't flinch and looked at the primate with utter cool and self-satisfaction and said, "Millions and millions of dollars. More money than you could ever begin to imagine."
It was sooooo sweet. that moment is with me forever.

I love the fact that the Stones are hated by these idiots. This type of publicity is exactly what made the Stones image in the first place. This is keeping them in the news! I wonder if Andrew Loog is behind this. smiling smiley

I didn't mention the left-wing, did I? Of course you assume I'm a pinko because I dared to criticize the Fuhrer.

In fact, I'm not even a lefty...but frankly they're irrelevant. They're spineless and have no power right now, so why should I even bring them up?
