I have no clue about the others but on Kurt Cobain doesn't a self inflicted shot gun shot wound to the head cancel out drugs booze and nicotine.

a mixture of being made of strong stuff genetically, knowing your limits and pure fluke. He's a freak of nature - lucky for him, and for us.

Hutchence (probably) and Cobain's deaths were deliberately self inflicted so you can hardly compare, plus both were obviously at a low ebb mentally. Hendrix and Morrison (if he indeed o'ded and didnt have a heartattack) were just unlucky
