To be honest, I was expecting a better set-list to start. No doubt some great songs, but other than the new ones, ones I've seen several times. Kind of was expecting some more..."oh my God, they are playing it" type songs.
I don't need to hear Get Up...Stones songs are better.
Still...wish I was there...but those kids are having a blast...
Shidobee states there was a "OPENING SONG" before Rough Justice, so I believe they opened with another new song. That would be really awesome, we really seem to get a bigger bang tour, not a warhorse tour with 2 new songs.
I agree with sdstoneguy, but until you hear it you cant judge. Lets see As tears go by and something more suprising and lets make the show rock or swing, the Toronto Radio BS broadcast just reminded me how bad the last tour was. I hope Stones sues them, specially for the European fans getting up at 3 am.
I mean why play Tumbling Dice in a club show?!? or ever at all??! You know what I take my last post back I dont think I would like to ever hear this show.
Kind of a mixed bag setlist - no real surprises as far as Stones tunes go - She's So Cold being the only one not recently played. Cover choices were nice, if not inspiring. Hopefully the new material will be strong enough to make the tour worthy. Doesn't look like it'll be chocked full of interesting songs from thei back catalogue...
"If I hadn't already had a few cocktails, i'd post this in news. But it's late, I'm tired, so here is the set list from tonight's show, and sorry if I'm hijacking. "
Rough Justice Live With Me 19th Nervous Breakdown She's So Cold Dead Flowers Back of My Hand Ain't Too Proud To Beg Infamy Oh No Not You Again Get Up Stand Up Mr. Pitifull Tumblin' Dice Brown Sugar JJ Flash
She's so Cold is the only real surprise. I'd love to see Ain't too Proud to Beg...haven't caught that one live yet. Mr. Pitiful is great song & a good choice for a cover. Get up...needs to get out of the set-list...unless they have totally reworked it to make it their own. If done in the original style...it'll be boring.
I think the setlist looks good. Give the guys a break. They had 2 years off. Let them warm up with some regulars, it's ok. Hell, the Stones could play the ABC's and I'd be happy with that. It's the f*^king rolling stones! Let 'em do what they want. I like the setlist. Aint too proud to beg, 19th, and get up stand up all sound cool. Good to see they opened up with Rough Justice. Great choice!
19th is a good song live, but doesn't come off as hot as some think. The Stones had this same issue with Hand of Fate last tour...although 19th comes off better than that.
I just think the Palais gig was MUCH better...was expecting a bit more here.
I think its a cool setlist - 14 songs, 4 new ones, 2 new covers (& GUSU is a perfect choice! I bet it kicks ass. Mr Pitiful's no slouch either), a few hits/album tracks that are hardly warhorses (19th Nervous B'down, She's so Cold - have they done that since '82? - Dead Flowers, Aint Too Proud to Beg) 1 familiar from last tour but cool imo & they have fun doing it (Live w/Me), and 3 'classics' or warhorses but usual closing numbers (TD, BS, JJF). These club gigs are usually pretty short, they will play around 20 songs. Not an annoying list, somsurprises. Now how were they tonight??
