Let's look at the best "Long time played songs" (jams) - must be more than 10 minutes....

This one is a great one, has all the ingredients, fantastic guitar solo, bass and drum playing, back up singing and keyboard....

My first 'Long Song' on LP was of course the excellent 'Goin Home' from UK album 'Aftermath'....

But the most important work in this category is of course as already mentioned from down South Lou Reeds 'Metal Machine Music'...@#$%&, It's stuff that sets it's tracks...
