Here's what you do:

#1 - Download a "Bit Torrent" downloader.
#2 - Download a FLAC decoder, also called a frontend.

Essentially bit torrent is a download program that allows people to host files on their private server. The unique thing about bittorrent is the fact that while you are downloading a file you are also sharing with other people. So if 10 people are downloading a file, you will have a connection to the server + 10 people to help you download a file. FLAC is full lossless audio codec. Means basically anything you download in that format is pure quality. Usually 24bit wav audio files. So no crappy mp3 compression.

If you need any help with it just ask.
Enjoy!

www.mininova.org
www.purelivegigs.com
www.torrentreactor.net
www.ilovetorrents.com

I uses Azeraus as a client. It takes up some CPU but my computer can handle it.

If you are new to BT you might wanna try Sharezza, it works like WinMx where you can search and D/L torrents.
You can also load torrrents from other sites. Its real easy once you uses it a bit

The Rocks Off tracker has been down for a few days and we've now changed the url to

[rollingstones.kicks-ass.org]

(nothing on it at the minute as no one has been able to upload for the last 5 days until now but that'll change in the next few days,we hope...)

I'm sorry but I still don't get it... I've tried registering once, so I click on download, and I try downloading it on my torrent client, but it doesn't work? Do I have to trade something or something like that?

Someone told me the torrent object has to be fresh
(my interpretation 'not older than a few days').
I´ve followed that, and it works for me. Old torrents usually are worthless, at least that´s my impression.

Oddly, the way bit torrents work, the more people that are downloading it...the faster it goes! As you download, you are also uploading the portion you have downloaded to others, so the more people involved...the faster it goes! Thus, if it is a "fresh" offering, there will be more people uploading as well as downloading.

It's a good idea to leave your window open as long after your download as possible so it will continue to upload. The process can really slow down toward the end of the download because those who have the complete file shut it down and, thus, are no longer uploading.

Good luck with it! It is a good way to get LARGE files. I got Mick Jagger's Webster Hall DVD in perfect quality! Just let it run in the background forf a couple of days and you got it!

Still got some problems with bit torrenting, preparing for the forthcoming Stones shows, I' d like to be ready next week...

Just downloaded a video and can't see it on Winamp. Following dimeadozen the download is complete and my file on pc seems that as well, but it doesn't work...

Another question about FLAC files. Is it possible to convert them into mp3 or wav?

Thanks a lot!!!!

PS: Downloaded before all programs needed, as listed up on that post for sure!

Do a search for a program called Flac Frontend. It is free and will do it all!

There are also patches for Nero that will convert SHN and FLAC files to cda for direct burning. Search around and ye shall find!

Thanks a lot Ross, no problem with listening to FLAC files now after encoding (I've got FLAC Frontend), but I've downloaded a video (Winamp Media File) that shows MPG on the display of winamp, but doesn't play....

sounds like you need the codec to view that vid... you can always try another player.. Windows Media Player one of the best i use is the VLC Media Player which plays everything

if you still get no joy then go to the torrent you downloaded and post a msg there

also make sure once you download a torrent you keep it going until you have a ratio of 1 i.e you have uploaded the same amount as you download or you could get banned
