The first Stones' album that I listened to was ''Through the Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol.2)''; the first Stones' album that I bought is ''Black And Blue''.

I love ''Black and Blue'' for this motivation and also because it's the end of an era for the Stones.

Have a nice day.

G.

Tattoo You.

I heard Milestones first, though, without knowing who it was.

The first one I heard was the debut album; the first one I owned (well, co-owned, with my sister) was December's Children,
and the first one I bought with my own money was Beggars Banquet. Beggars was also the first Stones cassette I bought.
So now every time a new format comes out I get Beggars Banquet first. Rituals give shape to our lives :E

Maybe a "record" includes whatever format - singles, vinyl LPs, cassettes CDs, mp3s, the works?

Can you tell us more about the Get Stoned-album? I don't think I have that one.

The Rolling Stones (debut album, UK) was the first I heard. I was 17, I thought I had heard it all (ska, punk, new-wave, hard-rock) and then I heard this and I was completely overwhelmed. It was by far the best I had ever heard.

The first album I bought was Exile on Main Street. Still one of my most precious possesions.

I bought Hot Rocks 1 & 2 (as two separate cd's) and Big Hits (High Tight and Green Grass, Japanese/English version) on the same day.

I inherited Hot Rocks from my older brothers/sisters. When I was younger I'd listen to it and Beatles albums they had over and over again.

Later I acquired my own copies of all of the Stones albums from 1964-1971. I had a 45/single vinyl Tumbling Dice but it was a long time before I actually acquired EOMS and the 1970s albums...Goatshead Soup was the first of these.

"The last Time" as a birthday present. I'd asked for some Beat-singles.(10 years old)
I think another one gave me "Satisfaction".They had been just 2 month apart. Those were the days lol.

First album: Bravo The R. Stones
A nice, early compilation, released after first German Stones tour.

Rolled Gold - 1975 or 1976. My dad had and still has it somewhere. He used to play it a lot when he had people round and I was upstairs, aged 8 or 9 being influenced winking smiley

The "Gimme Shelter" LP in '72. I was 14 and I thought it was the soundtrack of the film I saw that year.

got into the stones in 1987. after looking around various record shops, i was tempted to buy a stones tape and went with love you live, basically cos it had songs i had heard before, jj flash and brown sugar. my next tape was 5 months later and was rolled gold. after that my collection really got going. 27 years and 9 months later im still dicovering this band. im so glad i got into the stones, had some great times, and seen them 3 times.
