I was imagining a different green table... baccarat. Green court = tennis, yes.

Not just anyone playing tennis or slot machines. Someone much more ... sophisticated.

She spent all my money playing her half-assed game
She put me out (tennis??) it was a pity how I cried
Tables turning now,, her turn to cry.

No, I don't think that can be it - but I need to be sure it's wrong.

I always heard "Spent all my money playing high class games".
Maybe tennis and bridge can be seen as high class games?

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Making me broke at green courts and green tables.

"Spending all my money playing her high class games"
It's all over now... (finally)

Yet I am crusty and aging - that is according to her

I've never been sure if the games are high class, high fast or half assed, so I just put down what Time Is On Our Side has...

And was rather surprised to be right.

(Whaddya mean, pool ain't no high class game?)

Where does the "crusty" part of your clue come in to this, schillid?

Harlem "Bad Loser" Shuffler.

My understanding is that the original had "half-assed games" but the fledgling Stones
didn't want the BBC to get their undies in a bunch so they changed it to "high class games".
They'd changed the "stupid jerk" in Come On to a "stupid guy" for the same reason.

Here we go again...

Cognisant of subterranean regal self-perception.

An easy one (I think) and a Stones original.

Schillid, I dug up some cover tune lyrics, but couldn't find anything close to your clue of: Making me broke at green courts and green tables. Yet I am crusty and aging - that is according to her.

I think we're all stumped.

Winter, It's All Over Now. Green Lady got the first part (above):
Spends all my money playing her high-class games
and Olly the second part (also above):
Still trying to take me for the same old clown

Thanks for the gentle reminder with sssoul. I was scanning the thread too fast and saw where schillid added the 2nd clue and thought it hadn't been solved up to that point and didn't backtrack.
