we park near the stadium holiday inn to have close access to the bar before and after the show ,but our first pre-tour stop is always a go -go bar close to the stadium

Ben,

If you don't rent a car, you can catch a train(tube to you) from NY to Philly.

Amtrak may run directly but is more expensive .

The NJ Transit Northeast Corrider Line will take you from NY to Trenton NJ . IN Trenton I believe you take SEPTA (South Eastern Pennslvania Transit Authority) right into 30th street station in Philly. From there a taxi would be needed.

If you have layover in Trenton, there is a restaurant/bar right outside the station which is safe, but don't wander too far from it, its not the safest area.

Don't know how these trains run at night though. They should run pretty late.
Try:

NJTransit.com
Septa.Org

Amtrak.com

If you rent a car its a pretty simple drive once you get out of NY. The Philly end is easy.

Oh yeah, catch the trains out of Penn Station in NY, which happens to be under Madison Square Garden.

Yeah, I live in Philly. Center City.

I think the Wachovia might have the worst sound system of any arena in America, so I'm actually skipping those shows and seeing them at the Garden (and Washington) instead.

But to all who are coming to Philly -- ENJOY!

I may be there the 12th,,to me the sound all depends on the soundman ,,ive seen many shows there were the sound was excellent ,,namely the 2 no security shows,,but the stones show in 02 the sound sucked in alot of dif parts of the arena acording to me & all my friends,

Drew,

Check out www.chinatown-bus.com

I've always found it to be safe, reliable, clean, and CHEAP.

I live in Philadelphia and take it to NYC quite often.

One of Philly's best kept secrets..... much better than Greyhound.

Once in Philly you can get on the subway and head down to the show.

Amtrak can be a bit pricey, and SEPTA / NJ Transit can take some time.

They also go to Boston, DC.

Whichever way you decide to go have a safe trip.
