According to some , one of signs of a good vodka mixer is that you can't taste the alcohol at all. I've heard many people exclaim "That's a great drink! I can't even taste the alcohol!" These people are obviously drinking for other reasons.

Yeah, I have came across friends who have made clear to me how expensive their brand of whiskey was and then continued to mix it with coca-cola!

Strange friends you have there, if they don't like the taste of Vodka drink lemonade or something.
I remember KR used to drink Rebel Yell, i used to love it, much better than JD but have not seen it for years. Can you still get it in the States ?

Lol. Fanta? Keith was drinking double vodka and juices down in Baja years ago and Patti was drinking Pina Colada's as I recall. Never saw him appear the least bit drunk, obviously a true professional.
But you got the feeling he wasn't drinking for the taste anymore than he was snorting blow because it smelled good.

A glass of Merlot wine. $2 a bottle when you buy 4 or more at my local grocery store.
Drink Cheap
Life is too short to drink cheap wine, my friend.
Hi Michael, talking about good red wines, have you found and tried the Argentinian Malbec and the Uruguayian Tannat I suggested you 1 or maybe 2 years ago?
I tried the Argentinian Malbec and it was nice.
I did not try the Uruquay Tannat, which would be interesting to try.
I usually have a couple of bottles of the Argentian Torrontes < white > stuck in my wine cooler, as its quite nice.

OK, glad you followed my suggestion.
As you may know the Torrontes is the emblematic white wine from Argentina and it's very good and cheap for it's high quality, but I must say that I don't like it that much. Speaking about the red wines, I do like a lot the Argentinian Mabec and the Cavernet Suavignon especially for the "asado".
Btw I will open a bottle of Malbec for my homemade locro right now.
Don't forget to drink some good Uruguayian Tannat when you have the chance.

I take it that you prefer red to white?
I do prefer white to red, but will enjoy a decent red now and again, preferablly with red meat.
I will look for the Uruguayian wine.
