Correct!

Not even as good as the version in Gimme Shelter!

Just listened to the LYL version. No further comment needed.

Nothing tops the version on LOVE YOU LIVE. THAT is how the song should be known. It blows the studio version away. And Keith's playing, especially his solo, is absolutely top notch. Charlie's rolling beat, the choruses... it is perfection.

Check out the Brixton '95 soundboard version. Great opening number. BTW, that video still needs to come out!

No Bill.
No Taylor.
No thank you.

Love You Live is without doubt the greatest Live-Album of all times. Naturally you can find the greatest HTW-Version on it. And Live You Live has ten times better sound than Live Licks or No Security or Hyde Park. Nowadays nobody seems to know how to record and mix a live album. It´s sad sad sad indeed.

This version of HTW cannot be topped, it is perfect, even Mick "chewing something" Jagger fits perfect in this once-in-a-lifetime-performance. It sends shivers up and down my spine, it makes me trembling, shaking and going out of my head every single time I hear it and I hear it quite often.

Amen. The Stones were dinosaurs in 1976, sure, but that's a f-ing T-rex on guitar. Keiths heavy clumsy fingers carving out riffs from that Zemi.

Indeed, boring and predictable. I almost fell asleep while listening to it.

I love the Alantic city 1989 version (PPV)

maybe its because I was there.

Maybe my favorite was when I was near them when they were on the B-stage at the MGM Grand in Vegas and Keith starts the Honky Tonk Women notes at the front of the stage, and the other Stones were behind him and began frantically signaling him to stop—that it was the wrong song—but his back was to them so he kept playing "duuh...duh duh" and finally Ronnie dashed up and touched him on the back and spoke in his ear. And Keith stopped and looked embarrassed and shy but with a big smile as he shrugged his shoulders repeatedly at the Stones and the audience in apology. And then they went into the right song (forget which).

From the official live albums the LYL version is my favorite, but saying it's the best ever.. that's probably not true. There are so many great versions of this song. From the official versions I also like the At the Max, Let's spend the night together movie and New Jersey and Miami '94 versions a lot.

True to your word, Turner--you are remarkably consistent! (And usually right.)
